Cant remember if I asked this or not.. When should I expect AOR from Mexico City? and how is it sent? by email or mail?

We got our AOR about 2 and a half months after sponsorship approval! But i am pretty sure they start to look at your file before they send the AOR.

And it was by email! The applicant´s email address.

Hmm.. I am confused now, lol. So if you were in my posistion, and could get the PGR letter via the Mexican Embassy, should we go and get it soon? We were planning on sending my MIL in the next two weeks. OhCanadiana, is this what you meant about going to get it before they open the file? Thoughts??

Don't they send the AOR and the police check letter at the same time, but in different envelopes?

They send the AOR by email. But in the AOR letter they mention that they have sent the PGR letter on the same day. Mine took like a month and a half to get to me!

thats annoying they should just send it all by email.
normal mail is so slow. this process would be soo much faster if everything was sent by email!

ooh okay, makes sense. Well by the time they Send AOR it would be the same time we would hand in the police check, so we would skip entirely the waiting for the mail - Im thinking were going to go ahead with the police checks

I think they send it by regular mail because it´s an official letter directed to the PGR requesting the certificate, so maybe it has to be the original letter and not a copy.

Good idea! I think it would be much faster! Plus you will feel like you are actually doing something and not just waiting around for them to contact you! ;D

ah i see.
makes sense
but still wish it could be more simple :(

hmm now im frustrated because if we didnt receive AOR yet. means we didnt receive anything for the police check which is kind of important... >:(

Yeah its really odd you havent recieved anything.. what does you e-cas say?

you can see the big drop in 2009. when the visa came in.

anyways its pretty good. most of the reasons they deny is criminalities, or health concerns. not all but most of them.

can i ask you where you got these statistics from?

I get it from Open Data from the government of Canada. Their source is "Source: dwsweb;(4) International Region/nim_all_caips_e from download of April 8, 2012"

If you follow the link in my post with the number of applications you can download the spreadheet (where I say you can compare it to other VOs here ... "here" is a link ... the link is at the bottom of the post to download the spreadsheet).

Yes, the reason I was suggesting getting it right around your sponsorship approval is so that you can get the PGR certificate to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico - ideally - before they open the file the first time in Mexico. That way, the first time they review the file to inventory it they will see you have the PGR and SSP certificates done and can "tick" the box for those and thus not generate a request for them.

So, I would get the request letter as soon as you can and FedEx it to your MIL so she can get them both when she's in Mexico City next week (or was it the week after?)

ive only been checking his because i assume the changes would be on there.
i didnt check mine, but i highly doubt it would say something different.
