Congrats mc1234! :D

I just got back from the Canadian embassy. I went to hand in my FBI Police certificate. Hopefully this is the last document! How long do you guys think it will take for me to hear something?

Awesome Edgar !!! My fingers and toes are crossed for you that this is the last thing they request, my guess is two weeks for PPR, but its a random guess :)

Oooh. I guess two weeks till PPR.

Two weeks doesn't sound too bad :) Hopefully it's the PPR and not the ARC though... :o

Lets hope by now they have given up on the ARC and they will just ask you to pay the fee. Apparently that is what they do sometimes, if they approve your app the ARC is automatically approved and only the fee is required. Again crossing fingers and toes !

Let's hope! I have no idea what will be next. I have an email from there (one of my many arguments with CIC) where they told me that I would need an ARC, but that they wouldn't charge me for it. In the first email (before that one) they said I didn't need one at all. It's so confusing, but honestly I rather pay the 5140 pesos (yikes!) than to have to submit the letter and wait another two months. I guess I'll find out in a few weeks!

No doubt, that is a lot of pesos, knowing what my fiance makes a month, it would take him awhile to save up for that !! Hold onto that email that says they wont charge you, that could be a very valuable piece of paper !

Nope didnt work, although someone in the April thread mentioned that maybe its because his Canada ban from deportation is not up yet, his one year will be over on August 16th so perhaps we wont hear anything till the ban is lifted, seems to make sense...

Makes sense, but lets hope thats not the case :( I am hoping you hear something today or tomorrow!! :)

Thanks edgar! I hope your PPR request comes soon :D

Hey.
We were in the same situation.
We were living in canada and applied 3 months before we left canada.
And we put our mailing address as my parents house so we wouldn't miss any info.
Plus the change of address sometimes doesn't go through. Or it takes 15 days or more to go through.

I would suggest putting your parents place for the mailing address from day one. So there is no risk of lost paperwork :)

Thanks LeisaP, that is what we will do. :)

Awesome!

You give the VO at the point of entry a Canadian address, they will mail it out to you. You don't have to do anything. Right now it's taking 46 business days.

How does the ARC look like? What does it say? Without including personal info of course. This info would be greatly appreciated.
thnx for the info edgar, and for the arc I really don't know how it looks because im not in Mexico at the moment but I'll ask my husband the details and let you know. :) any updates on your file?

Thanks! I appreciate it. :)

No news yet. Today I went to the embassy to give them the FBI police certificate, now I just gotta wait a few weeks until they contact me again. I'm thinking it will either be for PPR or ARC, it has to be one of those two since I've already given them everything they asked for.

I'm willing it to be your PPR. Good luck.

does anyone know if its possible
onces we get the visa. to drive up to canada, maybe getting some sort of visa to travel through usa.

or would we have to fly. because of the whole mexico-usa visa restricions??

just curious we would like to drive up like a road trip back. but i dunno if it would be that easy or what you would have to get to do that.

thanks
