Do you guys think i should send another email to mexico city. or should i just wait it out and believe they have our file and nothing went wrong.

because its been over 3 months. and still no AOR, no ecase update, and i never received a reply from an email i sent back in june.

should i email them again and ask them to confirm they have our file??
im getting so worried!

yess!. im paranoid they lost our file or something and we didnt make a copy of it!! :-\

i know some visa offices dont send out AOR but seems like everyone from mexico has gotten one under 3 months.

Is your case straightforward? Are you dealing with deportation, ARC, etc?

I have a question about the COPR. Even though we gave the VO our Ontario address the destination just says Vancouver, BC. My address is there. How do I make sure his PR card is mailed to our ON address?

Don't worry - they will ask you for the address for the PR card when you land (if you want to be nice, take it on a slip of paper for the immigration officer ).

yeah i will send an email again. im so frustrated.

our case is very straightforward.
common-law, no kids, never married, close in age, neither of us have religious background.
were together 3 years in canada lived together for 2 of them.. have more than enough evidence to prove our relationship, including joint banks, joint lease, joint car, joint pet adoption, joint grocery cards, joint bills, life insurance with eachothers names as benificary etc.
we would be married by now if his refugee didnt get refused and he had to go back to mexico

my entire extended family knows him, and i know all his family. lol

he was a failed refugee, so he has a departure order, but we did everything by the book, went to all meetings, left on time, checked out with cbsa. everything right. he even helped cbsa close a case of a wanted criminal that fled canada(youd think they would cut us some slack!! ) but we all know by now. they dont know what there talking about with departure and deportation. even people with departure end up being asked for arc. so who knows really. p.s he did his rcmp check for canada aswell and sent it in with the app.


but none the less, our case should be processed as any other family class. because once they are done checking everything and ready to approve, it thats when they ask for the arc if they need it.

anyways i will send another email! and pray they will answer and nothing is wrong! *fingers crossed*

Oh thank you. I will print our address and put it in my folder.
I asked this in a new thread but can I fold the COPR? It is just a single piece of printer paper but it is legal sized and I threw out the envelope it came in and I want to put it in my document folder so everything is together. I am so paranoid! I think I am going crazy!

That doesn't mean it's impossible, they will just scrutinize the application a lot. I'm also confused with the whole ARC thing. Not even CIC knows what they're talking about and I've gotten a lot of mixed responses when asking CIC about it, but one thing is that I've read that the ARC will be process within the context of the application for family cases, so no need to submit anything extra

It's a normal part of the process. As is your exuberance on Aug. 3rd

I answered out in the main forum, but for others in here: Yes, you can fold it (they will fold your copy into four and staple it into his passport). Once he gets his PR card, unstaple it and store it safely in a safe deposit box. It will be *the* proof that he's a PR for ever and ever.

And, put a copy of your B4 in that same folder if you haven't already 8)

Yes. But we are working with a immigration consultant(very qualified) and she said they will not ask for an interview unless it is based on the genuiness of the application. in regards to the refugee they may or may not ask for an interview regarding the ARC.
and that our application should be processed as any other, the only thing that may make it longer is IF they require an interview, or if they ask for the arc later, than the arc will delay it.

What did they ask you at your interview??

I have spoken with a couple people and they were failed refugees from a couple different countries and never requested an interview. all they were requested was an ARC and passport. (some were requested the arc payment only and others the payment and letter)

i really think its different for every case.
Also i know they scrutinize if the relationship is genuine because it was a failed refugee, because they could just want access back into the country. butt i mean we were together for 3 years before he was denied, so i think it will be easy to prove our relationship is true and not for immmigration purposes.

also we have 2 friends that were refugees and they came back to mexico and were sponsored through canadian experience class, they went back to canada in may 2012, and they were never asked for ARC or anything to do with their refugee case throughout their process.

I think every case is handled different even if your situation is similar. :-\
