Yes I did send in wedding photos. We just got married at city hall but his family was there. I sent photos of a few different places we had been, since it said to send photos of outings. I sent a photo from our honeymoon and his birthday at his family's house, and one of use with our dog haha I thought later maybe I should have sent more. But yeah just to make myself feel better I'll save photos from our next trip, and get him to bring him to the interview if he is requested. I'm sure it will be fine.. it's just scary that someone has the power to deny your application because they don't believe your marriage is genuine! It's hard to prove love. :)

I hear ya, I think we all panic a little bit. I am worried as well because we are common law and because he was illegal I dont have alot of proof of us living together, my landlord would not put him on the lease, he wasnt on any of the bills, had no bank accounts (although I recently found out he was on the hydro bill !! so I printing that just incase !). Otherwise we have a ridiculous amount of letters, that is our main evidence, from practically all of our family and friends, and a fair amount of pictures, silly ones, serious ones, with my daughter. And i figure they apprehended him from our house so they know he was living there, so can they deny that ! I almost hope we do have an interview because we would ace it, we know every detail about eachother and our families, we could definately prove it in an interview. although apparently at the deportation hearing, the judge had said we had proven ourselves to be a ligitimate couple and that would be used in our application, so fingers crossed its actually looked at !! I am so nervous now !!!

Yeah that is tricky, because you are applying as common law, you have to actually show you were living together. The upside to him getting deported is that they do have records of him living with you, and you can openly discuss that on your application. Yeah I would think letters of people aware that you were living together should be sufficient! But yes, it's easy to panic and think you didn't send in enough evidence. Like I said, we will be prepared to go for an interview with more proof, if requested, so it's better to think of the possibility than be blind sided. Do you guys plan on marrying later on (It's ok if you don't want to answer that), I know you''re going through a divorce.. but wouldn't proof that you intend to marry be helpful as well?

Yes, we do plan to get married :) I have been seperated from my ex husband for 5 years but the divorce has also gone on that long. We run into complications, because one, I am not divorced yet and have a trial set for the end of November this year, then it will be 6 months after that I am officially divorced (it will be 6 years at that point). But my fiance can not come here obviously and you need to be divorced for one year before you can marry in Mexico, so we are stuck between a rock and a hard spot for now.

Ours went fast because

1. DH doesn't have to do Mexican police clearance
2. We were approved for a visa in 2010 and had to let it expire so everything was in the system already.

It was fast last time too because of # 1 but not this fast.

For me, this application started in 2010 and we started talking about it before getting married so for me it has been a long process and I can't believe we are going to FINALLY be in Canada soon!

Thank you EVERYONE.

We are all in California and will leave early August after my brother-in-law's wedding at the end of the month. I am going to start booking flights because I know we will get the passport back in time. I can't believe this! OMG I have so much to do!
