Has anyone had any experience or known someone who's PR app was rejected because they didn't feel the marriage was genuine? I know you can appeal if you do, but this is in the back of my mind, since my husband and I didn't have a long relationship before getting married. We spent two months together right before we get married, and then a couple of 7 - 10 days since we met a year and a half ago. I sent in Skype records, what boarding passes I had saved, photos and copies of my passport stamps for proof. But I'm worried it won't be enough. I'm going again in one week, and will save that boarding pass too just in case.

I would say just keep collecting evidence everything you can while you wait. and if you get called for an interview bring all the stuff you have collected and most of the time interviews get approved because if they dont believe it, they will when they meet the person and see how they are.

i really wouldnt worry to much about it. i have only heard of a few people getting denied in the interview and it was mostly because they were arranged marriages or huge age gaps.

it should be fine! stay positive :)

Yes I did send in wedding photos. We just got married at city hall but his family was there. I sent photos of a few different places we had been, since it said to send photos of outings. I sent a photo from our honeymoon and his birthday at his family's house, and one of use with our dog haha I thought later maybe I should have sent more. But yeah just to make myself feel better I'll save photos from our next trip, and get him to bring him to the interview if he is requested. I'm sure it will be fine.. it's just scary that someone has the power to deny your application because they don't believe your marriage is genuine! It's hard to prove love. :)

Oh don't worry you are fine. There is a huge difference between a fake marriage and a real marriage. The truth will be evident.

Also I take back what I said about the importance of wedding pics. I think that is more for new marriages. But there are lots of common law apps so I think the important thing is just showing that you spend time together and are involved in each others lives and communicate frequently.

Don´t stress yourself out by reading what other people sent! I kept reading on here people sending tons of emails and pictures and stuff and then I would get paranoid that I didn´t send enough! All we sent were some pictures and printed off some facebook wall posts. We didn´t even get an interview! You will be fine!

Thanks, it would be great not to get an interview as well to speed up the process. But we'll be prepared just in case. :)

Oh and I have heard of couples being approved that met on what are basically mail order brides sites, known to CIC, so hopefully we don't have a problem :)

Mexicans are known for some things but fake and arranged marriages aren't one of them! Mexican men are known to be romantic! I bet the interview rate for Mexico is very very low.

That happened to us too! I got sponsorship approval Jan. 31st and the AOR from Mexico didn´t come until April 8th! I am pretty sure they start processing before that though! We were emailing and trying to find out what happened but they never answered! I am sure you will get your AOR soon, don´t worry!
