He should have one. Call CIC - they'll be able to give it to him if he gives them the case number.

thanks! will do.

congrats edgar! that is great news!

We went back to the PGR today and they accepted the new pictures and all of the papers! They said they will call us in 3-5 days and if not we should just go there in 10 days to pick it up...I hate to be negative but I have a feeling we will just be going there in 10 days. :P

@ mc1234: my husband asked about if you can get someone to go on your husband´s behalf with a carta de poder at one of the state PGR offices, and they said yes! Well for the Veracruz one anyways, I assume it´s the same in other states.

For the birth certificate, they said it has to be less than 6 months old.

...and also something else. The guy mentioned that the cartilla militar has to be liberated to get it from the state offices. If not, then you have to go to Mexico City because they give you a special letter or something. Not sure if the guy knew what he was talking about though. But to whoever is going to try through a state office with a precartilla...you might want to check into that!

Sigh, lol. Okay thanks nessa. I think we will plan to have someone in my SO family in Mexico city to apply for us since it seems the least complicated..I can't even call the local office in Quintana roo until they open aug 1st and that's right around the time (if not before) that we will the the pgr. Ahhhh, mexico. Lol

P.s dealing with Mexican paperwork outside Mexico Is truly a nightmare. Lol

Haha, I think its just a nightmare in general ! We would have submitted our app months ago if it wasnt for all the waiting time and tracking down of documents, it took forever ! Not looking forward to getting the next batch stuff together after sponsorship approval !

Nessa - by saying the cartilla militar is liberated you mean that they have been released from service right ? ( i am assuming this is the pick the right colour to not serve option ! still cant beleive that is true !) I hope thats what you mean and we can get it in gdl instead of him having to travel to mexico city, anything we can do to save a buck on this would be awesome !

Yep, it means if they actually did the military service or if they got the marble colour where they don´t have to do it and in that case they would have the signature saying that they are released.

But I am not so sure about the having to do it in Mexico city if it isn´t liberated. The guy that said this was a different guy than the one that checked all the documents...so he might have not really known what was going on.

hmm, well my fiance was liberated (picked the right marble lol), so hopefully he is right and he can just go to the state office, that would be nice and they have a PRG office in GDL, so it would certainly make things easier :)

Yep then he should be fine! I think the guy meant like if you didn´t even go through the marble picking process for whatever reason...then you need to go to Mexico city.

lol, I just cant help but laugh everytime i think about the marble picking ! My fiance was in Mexico until his early 20's so he has gone through all that jazz a long time ago, I am thankful for that too, I feel for people who have been away since before they turned 18, seems to be awful to get all your documents in that situation. For us it may be annoying but at least we can get everything we need fairly easily minus waiting time and the damn mexican mail, I just received a letter my fiance wrote me and sent two months ago.... geesh !

OK I hope this does not sound like too stupid of a question but how easy is it to get chiles, Serrano, Chipotle, habanero, jalapeño (either fresh, dried or canned) in Toronto and how expensive are they? I am trying to decide how much to bring with me and I cannot imagine life with just "tabasco" sauce....... anything else I should "stock up" on? (besides dollars of course)
