@mrandmrsromero Thank you so much, I've been reading your posts for a while and I know you're getting close to the end as everyone else, I had a really bad experience before but at the end I finally got my PR and I can live a normal life with my husband. I wish you the best and I hope to read soon a PPR from you!!!!

Thank you very much for the encouragement reginac, it really does help to know that even the more complicated cases can see good news at the end. Y'all come back and check on me, kay? Good luck!!!

@ islenio

How did the landing go?

Really good,

We drove to Cornwall (we live in Ottawa), we did some shopping in the states and then drove back.

We were send to the office and my wife was just asked to confirm that she didn't have any dependents and to confirm the information on the landing record.
She gave them the list of "goods to follow" .

It took around 45 mins and once all the paperwork was completed the immigration officer said "Congratulations you are a permanent resident of Canada now"

That was it.

Hey, i sent an email to the VO asking about my medicals. I told them they would expire soon and that they had requested the police certificates but did not mention anything about the medicals, so, they answered back and sent me a form to get them done too. I am so happy for it. If you guys are in my situation, you could email them to save some time. Take care
I just emailed the embassy *again* asking for the form to re-do the medical. This time I took the approach of "we recognize that by doing the re-medical before the security checks are completed is at the risk of another possible expiry, however, in the spirit of optimism, we are more than happy to take that risk in order to avoid further delay". Let's see how well that goes over. :-D

The MP has responded to say that the embassy has confirmed that they are awaiting receipt of one more clearance. Whatever that means. I'm still guessing CBSA -- but as they have not responded to my inquiry as yet ... who knows.

And that, my friends, is all.

Hi Everyone
Another question for you.
On the general application form it asks for the national identity document which I understand to be the Instituto federal electoral card however There are only 2 numbers a Clave de elector and a folio, not sure which to use. Also, it only has an issue year and month not a day or an expiration so I'm unable to validate the form - what do I put in that box if there is no date or expiration???
anyone know :)
Thanks

rrrrggghhh how long can in take for a piece of mail to reach Cancun from Mexico City!! The crim record forms were sent, but the postal service isn't as prompt as ours it seems! Notified January 24th that they were sent!!

They say 2 weeks. I got email on Jan 30th and still haven't received the letter in mail from Mexico city.
