As of February 11 we will have been "in process" for one year. Ack!

Wow, one year :( Hoping things come through soon for you. I think a lot of us here feel your pain with separation, we just have to believing that the end result with our significant others being here as PRs will be worth all of the emotions, and stress that immigration brings into our lives.

@nessa: wow, congrats! How long in total did it take for you to get sponsorship approval? Hoping the next stage goes as fast as you as the first did :D, and then your hubby will be here before you know it!

Sorry, I am a little confused. Did your CL partner spend some time in the US, requiring her to get an FBI check or is this something they ask from everyone?

Yes 1 yr on a work permit.

@ Nessa - congrats!

@ mc - FBI only required for people who have spent time in U.S.

@ lv - I'm sure my husband received the instruction letter for PGR by regular post. In any case, let embassy know you haven't received attachment referred to in the email.

How long does it take to get that letter?

Congratulations!!!!!

I am in a state of depression befitting a thorough self-pitying long term wallow in high end dark chocolate:

For permanent resident applications, it normally takes 3 months after our medical office receives the medical examination results from the Designated Medical Practitioner before we will contact you regarding the next stage of your application. This is true only if you have already complied with our other requests (e.g. to submit other documents).

Please, by some miracle, may this NOT be true for RE-medicals!!!!
