Hi all,

Does anyone know if you have to wait for the request to get a PCC from the VO in Mexico before you can start the process to obtain a PCC from the RCMP through a fingerprint search? It is likely we will get asked to submit one as partner lived in Canada for one year in 2012/2013. The thing is we don't know when the request will come (hopefully before the end of May because we are at 6 weeks now since file transfer, waiting to hear from the VO for the next step which should be to get the PCC). This is the only one we need to get done as the PCC from Chile was submitted upfront.

We need to know if we can do beforehand beacause partner is going away for work for 2 months to a remote worksite where he won't be able to get fingerprints done and submit to the company in Canada. So we wanted to get it done before this happens. Plus there might be the added hassle of having to translate the forms from the accredited company from English to Spanish since he said the notaries there won't sign any documents not in Spanish.

Thanks! :)

Ok thank you! So I guess they're going to make me sweat it out! Well in May I'll hear from them to renew medicals and then we'll see what's next.

I believe a bunch of people will get PPR at the same time. Most likely everyone who has their background check in progress. I wonder who was the last known person to get PPR in this thread. Been a while since I have seen someone saying "Got PPR TODAY" (in this thread)

No updates for me and mine says Background check Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check. Still hoping I fall under the group since I sent the police report 2 Weeks ago and they acknowledged it.

When will the update be on mycic?

Lucky you. Mine still says We are reviewing Eligibility requirements. Background check still in progress as an outland applicant, eligibility is done before background check.

My family wrote support letters. I figured it is not too late to send them right? I will email them scanned copies, should i mail the originals to Mexico?

Hey guys.. Does anyone know how much longer we can expect to wait for our background check to start? Our file has been in Mexico since December 2016. Last month we sent in new medicals, which they acknowledged and MyCIC has already updated them to Passed. Now what? It says now that they are still reviewing eligibility. I know we are still within the timeline, just wondering.

Oh wow, you are a September-October applicant, what is going on!!! you should be waiting for PPR not background check!! I know one of us "Argie" got her background check started and she is a December applicant so I'm guessing either the officer handling your application is slow or your case is a bit complicated?

as a side joke:"Or Miguel just doesn't like you"

No my bad. Eligibility is in progress
For background it says: your application is in process. Next step is to conduct background check.

Its not at background check yet, unless they are not bothering updating it. Heck they sent me a third AOR in there on april 4th. She if it wasnt for me emailing them for the third time about my husbands address still having a typo, i would have never known that in reality its the RPRF they wanted! They wrote back to say your address is correct, do not forget your payment as requested April 4th...

Wow i emailed the letters today. Got the standard auto reply, and just now got an actual confirmation of reception of documents. That is the fastest response i have seen!!!

I guess Argentinians get a better deal than the rest of Latin America haha. Your timeline is pretty good. The fact your background check is in progress it means you are pretty much approved and you will most likely get PPR in the next batch.

I don't think our case is complicated.. no dependants, no prior immigration problems etc.
Maybe it's because our medicals expired and we had to redo them?
What happens if our police certificates expire?
