Four weeks ago I sent my passport to Visa Ofiice and still have not received it back.
Along with passport request, I received a letter saying I had to land in Canada before August 19th and that they would take 2 to 3 weeks before they returned my passport, but today is four weeks without hearing from them.
I sent email asking and they didn´t reply.
Ecas still says In Process.
Anyone has any comments about this?
I just want to be done with this and have my passport back! :´(

Wait more.

When they say 2-3 weeks it is an estimated time, not a commitment. Wait at least 6 weeks.

Yes I will. There´s nothing much I can do but waiting.
I just feel I´m so close to finish this and get my COPR that everyday this feeling of anxiety gets worse and worse.
I see on the Mexico Spreadsheet everyone living in Mexico got their passport back in approximately 20 days so this just worries me a little bit.
They usually responded to every mail that I sent before and now they just ignored me lol.
I check Fedex every hour just to see if my airbill was activated and Ecas hoping to see any change.
This waiting is horrible.

I know......I am so worried now and really freaking out.
This amount of stress is just horrible.

My letter said 2 to 3 weeks....even that was ok, but really, 4 weeks and no news, nothing has changed, Ecas still In process.....
I sent email again today, I am sorry but I just want to know if it is still in process or maybe they sent it and I missed it??? Idk
Is it possible they have requested passport and maybe refuse visa after all?
I am just thinking the worst today......

Don't get down about it - I'm sure it will come soon. You got processed really fast and you didn't have an interview, I don't think there is any chance of them refusing you...

This is my first post here. I sent in my SA on May 1st, received my AOR on May 29th, 2015. My husband is waiting patiently in Mexico and I am here in Canada. I have tried to fill out my timeline on the spreadsheet as I know everyone will benefit from it. I do have one question though, many of you have listed that your medical exams were already completed. When I spoke with CIC before sending in our applications, they said that yes the process would be faster if we did, however depending on the country, it may not be possible. So we called the "panel doctor" (is that what they call them?) in Mexico City and they told us that without the request from the Visa office, we could not proceed with the Medical exam and would have to wait until we received the request. Did we make a mistake by not contacting several doctors?

Any comments appreciated :)

Welcome! I'm not sure why the office your have told you this - most people I believe do submit them with their application. I would have your husband call and make an appointment ASAP, there is no request document needed - there is however a request letter needed for the police certificate. There is only one panel physician clinic in Mexico City, otherwise you need to go to Monterey or ciudad Juarez. The Mexico City offices website is here - http://mei-mexico.com they book usually about 2 weeks out. Make sure you provide them with your file # so that it gets filed correctly. If you wait they will eventually send you a request but that will just delay things. We did ours months before we filed our application.

Hi everyone!

I flagpoled and landed in Canada two days ago!!

My mother-in-law was kind enough to drive my wife and I across the US border and back.

I was so worried about bringing extra documentation to show CBSA when I landed in Canada (in case I got grilled for whatever reason) that I forgot I needed an I-94 form in addition to my US tourist visa in order to enter the US. The US border agents were unusually nice and said "don't worry, we'll give you an I-94 form in secondary" so all three of us got pulled into secondary because of me. The agent at the secondary office who filled out the I-94 for me was also super nice, which was weird for me as I am used to being scrutinized by US immigration/customs agents. The last time I traveled to the US was 6 years ago and the US immigration agent at the airport insinuated that I had a fake/stolen passport and when I asked if anything was wrong he got very mouthy, but let me through anyway.

We went to a supermarket in Blaine and six 12-can cases of pop later (they had so many varieties of pop there... holy cow), we headed back to Canada, told the CBSA officer I was landing and were sent to secondary. I got asked a few questions and sent to sit down to wait for the CBSA officer to fill out paperwork, which was the longest wait ever - at one point there were 3 other officers helping him so I guess maybe he wasn't familiar with landing procedures? Got called back to the counter, signed the COPR, was warned not to go outside Canada and the US before receiving my PR card in the mail, was handed a really outdated 'things to do after you land' guide of sorts, and the officer said "Welcome to Canada."

Done!
