I got my SA via email Jan 23 but our file still says Application Received too. It took them over 2 weeks from my AOR to have our file loaded online, so I'm sure it is just the usual slowness. Let me know if you hear anything from the VO though.

How long after the email stating that a police certificate (PGR) was needed and that "an official signed letter is being sent via e-mail today" did you actually receive said official letter?

I got the request on 1/28, but still haven't received the letter for PGR... Is this normal? Should I wait 10 days before sending a prepaid airway bill? Waiting 30 days is way out of my comfort zone ;D
completely normal for Mexico. Wait the 10 days then send the prepaid airway bill. Getting this letter for PGR was a nightmare for my partner and I.

Make sure EVERYTHING you send to them has your File #, name, and date of birth.....EVERYTHING ! (they lose files all the time) On 2 occasions they said they never received requested docs from us. Only after I proved to them that it was sent, were they able to find it ! (my MP helped a lot with this issue)

Best of luck ! ;)

Hi all,

We got an email on Thursday from the embassy in Mexico requesting that my husband present himself for an interview. This couldn't possibly be a "final" interview could it? He hasn't been asked to submit the Mexican police clearance letter. Shouldn't that happen before? I'm confused about the timeline/process. If this is an interview just to clear up some grey areas and then he has a second interview - The Interview - this is really going to screw our budget. We live in the US and travelling back and forth is no joke (we just got back from there 3 weeks ago).

Also, if anyone has any experience, how willing is the embassy to change interview dates. My husband doesn't want to miss work (the interview is on a Tuesday); but he will go if it's unlikely that they'll entertain his request.

Thanks guys!

Hi
My husband also got called for an interview and he is going this Tuesday coming up. I know that you need to give them the best reason why you cant make it and hope they accept your reason. My husband got called but we already submitted all the police checks and all our documentation, so I am also wondering why they ate calling him. Well i wish you all the best

If he doesn't go to the interview, the risk of refusal for non compliance is high. They won't change the date .
It is unlikely that he will be asked for a second interview. It is difficult to guess what the interview is about.
If everything goes well, his PGR certificate will be requested after the interview.

canmex2012: good luck with your interview tomorrow. I hope all goes well for you.

susana: I didn't really think they'd change his interview date for something as trivial as his work schedule, but you never know...

I'll update with what happens at the embassy.

Hey guys,

Does anybody have current information for requesting the police certificate for Mexico from outside Mexico for a Mexican citizen?

I need to know;

What is the address to send the biometrics to?

How long does this take, they have given my wife a 30 day deadline to have this paper back in the hands of the embassy in Peru.

Does she need to include a return envelope to have this sent back or does the Canadian embassy in Mexico take care of this and if that is the case do they send it back to her or to the VAC?

Any other useful info would be great too, thank you soooo much to any and all that take the time to help us out!

Re: PGR Letter

Thanks so much for easing my mind about not getting the PGR letter in 24 hours like the email promises.

canmex2012 said:
I got the same email a while back and if you open the file they sent you the letter is included. You take it to your nearest PGR and they will accept it as an official letter. If they say no, you need to reply back to the email and let the officer know that wont accept it and tell him the exact address you went and take down name and number. My husband went the first time and they said no in Aguascaliente that they want a letter with the stamp not just the email. So i decided to email the officer and he replied in 24 hours letting me know he spoke with them amd that they will now accept it.

Good luck
The email I got had a PDF file attached. The PDF said that the official letter would be emailed separately. Is that the letter you printed and took to Aguascalientes?

Will send the prepaid airway bill on Monday. Thanks for the tip, it must be very frustrating to have tracking proof and still learn that they didn't get the documents.

Well, you guys will LOVE this...

Spouse's file has been 'in process' at VO Mexico since June 2014.

Visa Officer actually called my spouse today and requested new medical documentation because -get this- the original we filed with her application expired.

The documents that were VALID until Jan 2015 when received by the VO in June 2014... sat there and expired in their possession!

We are now forced to redo the exam at our expense >_<

I don't know that I can help you very much, but did you contact the PGR to ask them where to send the biometrics? Otherwise I am not sure what the paperwork flow is when apply from Peru. Wish you the best with your application!
