CPR question, under category it says IM1, and in visa it says category FM1. Should I be worried? Also does my wife who sponsored have to travel with me when i arrive? and also thank you everyone, for your help and support me and my wife really happy.

Thanks. One other question. On the COPRs of my wife and stepson, it lists my wife's medical "valid to" date as April 4, 2014 and my stepson's medical "valid to" date as April 2, 2014. They both had the medicals done on April 2, 2013, so I am not clear as to why there is a discrepancy of two days, especially considering that their visas both expire on April 2, 2014. Can we get this corrected when we land?
I suspect the Border Officer wouldn't have ready access to the case notes and submitted documents to verify this (they usually request you take proof for any item you would like corrected). So, if you want this line item corrected, your best bet is to follow up with the Embassy so they can track down where the mistake was made and issue a new the CoPR.

Congratulations! I hope your interview went VERY smoothly (in addition to successfully).

Your wife doesn't have to travel with you when you arrive (i.e., you can travel alone). Time to complete your B4/B4A =)

Okay, so if I choose not to have the medical expiry date on my wife's COPR corrected, can my wife and stepson still land? I do have scans of their medical pages (with photos) showing the correct date of April 2 for both of their medicals, if required. They land on March 5.

Update: my wife called David Cohen's office and they said the discrepancy in the medical date for my wife is because her medical results weren't put into the system until April 4. She then asked the office about the issue with me listed as my stepson's spouse, and I wished she hadn't. Now the office is basically telling us not to travel until further advisement from the Mexico City VO. One question. I've read here that in this thread that the me as my stepson's spouse is an easy issue to fix during landing. However, now that the Mexico City VO is involved, is it possible they could cancel our visas and COPRs from afar without the need to send them in first to issue new ones? I'd like to go ahead with the plans for my wife and stepson to land on March 5. Let me know. Thanks.

The fact that it's a family class application would be reflected under "application details" in the "category" row (FC1 = family class 1). You can either have the Embassy of Canada in Mexico correct this or have the Border Officer correct it when you land.
If the embassy has been contacted about the error, but the COPRs haven't been sent to them for correction, is it too late to have the border officer correct the error when we land rather than send them to the embassy?

JimE2013: you really should discuss these questions with your lawyer to ensure you have a coordinated approach (in general and specifically, since he's reaching out to the Embassy on your behalf already). As context, you could take a look ENF04 Section 12.6 and the Bulletins issued in recent years which discuss CoPR processing given that the forms were being changed. These are available on CIC's website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/).

I will, but again, in your experience, have you heard of people who have contacted the embassy and have then chosen to get corrections done at the border rather than send them directly to the embassy, and have been successful?

How many days after PGR documents Sent

HI All,

I was wondering how much should it take to hear from the embassy again? My sponsor sent the last required documents two days ago, the PGR police certificate. All Meds are done.

Someone knows?

Thanks,

Lhernanddez

I wish I could help you, but I don't really know, what I had read here in the forum about COPRs is that if there is any mistake in the information you should notify the Embassy. I think it also says that in the letter they send you with instructions.

I would go with OhCanadiana advise and talk to your lawyer or take a look at the CIC website.

Good luck

Well it really varies a lot depending on your case, for example in my case took around a month after I sent PGR, for they to request my passport, there is a girl whose husband took a week so they requested his passport.

In the other hand it could take months if your case is complicated, so it really is according to your circumstances. Lets hope for the best and you hear from them soon with great news.

Gamy I just read your timeline, congrats! That's a pretty short time you had for the entire process. I hope mine is the same or similar.

I sent my app package in a month ago and received an email on friday saying that they received it in Mississagua on February 5th. Should I expect to hear an answer from them regarding me, the sponsor, sometime this week you think?

SOON!!
From people's experiences here, why is there sometimes such a big difference in time between people's applications? For some people the entire process is 5 or 6 months, while others are waiting almost two years.

I understand that an interview or a request for specific records extends the wait… but does the "obviousness" of the relationship have anything to do with it?

Like if there is a longer relationship, lots of photos, emails, letters, big wedding, etc. - do those details speed things up?? I would think yes, but I would like to hear from others. Thanks :)
