Don't forget to send a copy of your PR fee receipt to Mississauga, that will also cause delays. I sent that off as soon as I paid for the fee online.
OhCanadiana was suggesting to do a cheque de caja in a Bank here. Can you tell me about your experience doing it online?

Yup, I used this link, https://eservicesak.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en

Got the email receipt sent that to Mississauga and then to the Mexican office through email. When my wife dropped off the SSP/PGR at the embassy she forgot a copy of the receipt but it was ok cus we had sent it through email

Eduram - one thing to consider is that visa offices abroad cannot process online payments (yet) so if you pay the RPRF online, you'll need to wait for CPC-M to process the online payment and reflect the RPRF as paid in your file before Mexico can issue your PPR. Therefore, I usually suggest this only if folks are not yet very close to having the CoPR issued.

In contrast, most local visa offices (including Mexico) can process RPRF payments in local currency themselves and thus if you mail it in with the other documents they requested they can process it and reflect the payment in your record immediately. The link I gave you the other day has the instructions as the specifics vary between banks re number of bank officer signatures.

Mine the doctor checked off same as above. He also said they were being sent to CIC ottawa, but our visa office was Mexico City..
That is correct. Physicians sent the medical reports to Regional Medical Offices to be evaluated and then the results are added up with your file.

I was just thinking that with this new SSP or SPP that we will need, it's going to be a real pain for us outside Mexico. We have to get the Mexican Embassy in our country of residence to order it(not alway close to home) after we receive the e-mail from the Canadian Embassy in Mexico. Of course we have to produce the letter requiring it before they will order it. We wait for the Embassy to do it's thing. I'm not sure how or to where it will be mailed but once it is shipped back here we will need to get it translated and verified that it's an official translation and then we need to send it back to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico. I believe that all security clearances require official translations. Correct me if I'm wrong. We've been to our local Embassy and they have no idea what this SPP or SSP is yet. I'm a little frustrated. Just more waiting time.
Take a look at the new police certificate instructions on the CIC website. They are now suggesting you reach out to the Mexican VO if you live abroad for the SSP too so you may be able to save yourself the hassle. They must have finally realized the Mexican Embassies aren't doing them as they thought they would.

My husband has decided to go back to school to become a CGA. He is getting his University transcripts evaluated and hopefully some of his US classes transfer. Tuition is expensive though - I remember reading something on the forum about 30% off tuition. Anyone know about that?

I believe it is an Ontario benefit and it has to do with OSAP.......I believe you get the money up front and when you successfully pass your course it is reduced by the 30%.....what the qualifications are I am not sure....

Well I found out that the 30% is for kids right out of high school. But then there is OSAP which I am going to look into.
What is your hubby going to do in Canada, KJG?

Doesn't CPC-M process the payment anyway? My letter said that a copy of the receipt needed to be sent to them and if I didn't it would cause delays...

My husband is in a similar situation. Degree and experience don't match. He is basically starting over but it is kind of exciting. Do Cuban degrees transfer to Canada?

The documentation on our file appears to now be all up to date. We thankfully took the initiative to update the FBI and medicals on our own months ago, so that's done and reflected on our GCMS notes. I wonder though if a new PGR will be requested. Has anyone heard of this happening in cases with longer timelines? I suppose the good news is that if we are in fact asked for it, it won't take very long to obtain it. Interesting how one's perspective changes with respect to what constitutes a "long time" after almost two years on the queue .... !
