news at our end.
we just got the request for our ARC and have 60 days to submit the forms..
only problem is we are waiting for the vancouver refugee board to mail us the papers we need.

now we have to write a letter on why my spouse should be allowed back into canada... here we goo.. lol
edgar if u have any tips on what you wrote or what we should add to our letter that would be more than helpful!!! thanks!!

Wow just reading this now thats reallly great that you got the reuest for the ARC we still have not got out request and our PGR has been in over 3 weeks now i really hope we hear something soon... i finished writting our letter yesterday and we were lucky because the package my mother in law sent to my husband with his old documents did have the refugee decision and reasons.. the only thing i dont fully understand is about how to pay the fee and if theres a way i can pay it from canada vs my husband taking the money from his bank in mex

If they are only opening them once the deadline for the PGR and SSP has come, then we have another 3 weeks to go. Hopefully they pick up our files before then!!

That'd be awesome if someone hears this week! I dont wanna get my hopes up though just in case so if not soon then the week of the 15th when our docs are due.

I hope so!! Mine is a little differnt because i had to do the RCMP as well which had a 120 day deadline which isnt untill November.. but my PGR deadline already passed.. I dont think any one else here did the RCMP?

My letter was about 3 pages long and I wrote different things, first explaining my situation, and telling them "why" I didn't leave when ordered to do so. I mentioned that my reasons didn't justify it regardless and I apologized for "being a burden on the Canadian immigration system" and then I continued with reasons that would justify my return to Canada (bonafide marriage with a Canadian citizen, wanting my wife to have her family close and that she shouldn't be punished by being apart from her family when she did nothing wrong, the fact that I speak 4 languages - including both of Canada's official ones - don't have a criminal record, good health, etc.)

To pay for it I went to Banamex and bought a "Cheque de Caja" addressed to "Embajada de Canada" for 5,140 pesos. They charged me $150 pesos for the cheque plus a percentage of the amount, so I ended up paying like $5,600. The Cheque has two signatures and codes. Then I just went to the embassy and handed in the cheque, the letter, the copy of the refugee decision and a prepaid waybill which they will never use according to other forumers who did the ARC.
