cant you just get them done at a local police station?

Your local police station - http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/directory/ - or do an internet search and you'll find a bunch of fingerprinting agencies.

I looked around at a few places and the going rate seems to be 45 dollars. Does that seem right? I wonder for the PGR if they want it from the local police station or will they accept it from a private business as well?

i think for ours it was $35 or $40. so $45 sounds in the ball park. :)

Okay, great thanks. I think ill just avoid the hassle and will get it done at the local police station!

yeah its fast too.
when we went i think we waited in like about 20 minutes (but there was some really dumb people there that day.. our police station is in a "bad" area so its full of interesting characters haha, i remember we were waiting in line and 2 east indian guys were there, i think they were high but they were trying to convince the lady at the desk to write them a letter and make them fingerprints so they could cross the usa border, because they didnt have any government I.D haha weirdd)
but once we paid and got the receipt the lady came out and did the prints asap. it was 30 minutes in total. :D

I don't think anything will ever beat my experience waiting to get my SO's police check in Cancun. There was a guy who got arrested.. he was sitting there quietly on the floor trying to escape out of his handcuffs and no one seemed to notice but me!! Lol. On top of this, we had to wait all day in four different lines and then come back two days later and wait in some more hour-long lines to pick it up!!! Funny now looking back at it, at the time.. not so much :P

hahaha!! wow! that is funny.
i take it he wasnt succesful!?
yup sounds like a mexican procedure. make you run around in circles all the time lol.

i remember we went to a police station in puebla with my spouses parents (they had to get some papers) and my hubby wanted to show me the drunk tank(very different than in canada). so we peeked around the corner and it was a tiny room with about 15 guys stuffed inside completely wasted(it reminded me of monkeys at the zoo hanging off the bars). and i remember right when they saw the wera, they started screaming and whistling i thought they were going to break out of the cell!!! :o haha!

Lol! Mexican paperwork makes me dizzy :( Yeah I found their procedures very interesting at the police station. Never a dull moment in Mexico, that's for sure! At least it made out day at the police station interesting :)

me toooo :-\ lol
everytime we go to a police station, or government office, or anything of that sort. it always puzzles me how they run things.
haha yeah! its interesting to see how things run in different countries though!. than we can compare it to canada and remember how simple we have it most of the time :P

I think the worst experience I have had was getting the precartilla for my spouse. I wrote about it a while back while we were going through it. I will be so happy once these police checks are out of the way!!!! lol are you and spouse near mexico city?
