yeah. and if your missing documents, or you forgot something. they dont deny you. they just contact you to send in the proper forms or extra stuff.

well ours was an immigration consultant. which we thought was very good because she had helped 4 of our other friends get permanent residence. and she herself sponsored her partner from france quite a few years back. so we figured well she went through the process she must be pretty good.

she only charged us $500. because she worked from her home and she was doing this to help people not to rip them off.

sooooo it seemed well worth it. but now i think i could have saved my $500 and did it on my own . lol

Well that's not too bad. I probably would have done it too. It's so overwhelming in the beginning!! I wish I had of found this forum while filing out my application, it would have saved me some worrying for sure!

So a big THANK YOU to everyone that contributes and shares their experiences!!

yeah same here.
this forum is 100 times more helpful and realistic than any consultant or lawyer.

That was a discount!!! Haha wow!!
That's what my friend payed for his lawyer when he did his economic class sponsorship.
So if that company charges more. Seems like a ripoff.
YIKES!!

Yes, there's nothing you can do but put it behind you, and take the steps needed to get the docs they requested. Money is replacable, your husband isn't :)

Hello everyone,
I posted some of this on the March topic but wanted to post here to ask for advice for my husband in Mexico.
So we received a letter for the fingerprint based police certificate from the RCMP.
Does anyone have experience with a Mexican citizen who lived in Canada for a period of time and is required to provide this?

I am slightly lost and they do not have a contact phone number to reach them at all. They gave 120 days to get this done and from my understanding if you do have something on your record (which my husband does) it can take more than 120 days.

Plus we are working on the Mexico security clearance at the same time which we have only 60 days for.
These timelines stress me out when your dealing with these places in Mexico and Canada that you can never reach!

Please anyone let me know if you have experience with this fingerprinting RCMP certificate !!

Sounds like it was received May 3rd. Which makes sense since you heard later than the mid April people. Did you mail and track it yourself or did the lawyer do it? ???

No the lawyer sent it, but she sent me the tracking page and I have the signature page from fedex saying it was signed for on April 17th by kim at the case processing in mississuaga.

No I don't think so. I sent mine through Canada Post express, and the date that Miss. says they received it, is the day that Canada Post says they delivered it.
