Nessa thank you for the info.

But one more question - the information i've found on internet about the operation hours is confusing now because I found that you gotta be at SSP early morning to drop off your documents (copia acta nacimiento & IFE) and sometimes you get like ''fichitas'' (with times to come back) and from 2pm to 7pm only to pick up. but I think what you guys said is that you went in the afternnon to did it all in once - I am confused because I will be travelling 6hrs next week to get to Mexico city and I dont wanna get there at 2pm and find a huge line up of people but just ready to pick up - I mean I wanna get back to my town the same day.

if anyone that has been there can guide me with this would be so much appreciated.

The hours are 2-7pm. And you do it all at the same time! It is REALLY fast so if you get there at 2 you will probably be out of there with your paper by 2:15pm. There will be a big line up and you will probably think you will be there for a long time (we thought we would be there all afternoon!!) but it literally takes like 5 minutes. It is super fast! So don´t get annoyed at the line up when you get there. :D

They're at the end of march so April will start next week hopefully and that will invigorate you. It's a tough wait. I'm starting to go nuts in step 2 now, lol. Seems everyone else saw in process on ecas at this point but I'm still waiting. Ahhhh!

I waited a lonnnng time to see in process on my eCas. But I am pretty sure they started it before they changed it on Ecas. ( I got the PGR request before the in process showed up), and then once it did show up I got PPR in like a month!

So I wouldn´t worry much about what eCas says.

Hello..

My husband lives in the united states with no status.
If he gets called for an interview and has to go to Mexico...what is the estimated time he has to stay in Mexico until coming to Canada...since he wont be able to return to the united states. And how are they going to send him his PR card, if everything gets approved?
i REALLY hope he doesnt have to get called down to mexico for the interview..

Hi Everyone!
I have been reading the thread for a while and I see some recent exciting news for some mexican applicants

I am also sponsoring my spouse from mexico.

we sent our application in jaunary and i got approved on april 5, than it was sent to the mexico city embassy. so now we are just waiting impatiently for good news :P

I have a question!
Has anyone else on this thread sponsored a failed refugee claimant from Mexico? and if so how is your process coming along, smoothly?

;D

Show lots of proof that your marriage is genuine especially since you're so young. Then you shouldn't have an interview.

We need to get you on the spreadsheet!

Has Mexico sent any correspondence? What do you see on ecas?

Does anyone have a direct number to contact the Mexico City embassy??? Please, we need to call them Monday...my daughter is down there with her husband, as some of you know. She has something going on medically with her now, and needs to see 'her' family doctor...she won't leave without him.....if they could just contact the embassy....yes once before they have done a case specific enquiry, but heard no response....any number would be great guys!!

BCmom, so sorry to hear this :(
I just tried to search my heart out for a number for you as I know everytime I have called I've gotten a recording and I found this
" …in person or by phone

In order to best use our resources, we do not accept enquiries in person or by phone. If your enquiry is urgent due to factors outside of your control, send an e-mail clearly indicating “URGENT:” followed by the reason for the urgency."

on this website: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/mexico-mexique/visas/enquiry-how_demande-comment.aspx?view=d

Maybe that will work if you do the email saying urgent?

Goodluck, let us know!

It's a good time to come out of hibernation - an early April applicant received sponsorship approval recently so hopefully yours comes around in the next couple weeks! :D

Well, tomorrow is the big June 30 "due date" on our file. Given that it lands on Saturday of a long weekend, I'm not exactly holding my breath for much action on the immigration front LOL! I'm outta here for a week's vacation in beautiful Prince Edward County with my nieces from Winnipeg. A much needed getaway. Happy Canada Day weekend everyone!

Sorry to hear about the medical situation. Perhaps they could consider requesting an urgent tourist visa for him. They could go to the Embassy in Mexico City directly to apply (you don't have to apply through the intermediaries) and make their case directly so he can travel to Canada. Any medical documentation would probably help.

I am not aware of any phone number for visa services in Mexico for enquiries. You can get ahold of the consular office for Canadian citizen services these days (for a while, when they started requiring tourist visas for Mexicans you couldn't even do that since the phone calls disconnected automatically).
