Can anyone shed some light? I had my medicals and sent the card from the doctor along with my ap, as instructed, but I see a lot of talk on this site about people receiving requests for medicals while in the middle (or towards the end) of the ap process. The earlier reply to my question was a bit vague, so I am asking again. Will I have to have ANOTHER physical? I hope not...needles traumatise me.

Juche, you have done the right thing by submitting meds with application. Not sure why others would wait until they were requested as the guide states what must be done. Some will have requests if the medical has expired - they are valid for 12 months.

Don't confuse yourselves. Spousal and dependent children include medicals, with their application. All other applicants have to wait for medical requests from the processing office.

as far as I know spousal and dependent children medicals are valid for 12 months, then visa office asks them to be redone.

just talked to IO and he said leave it as is as the main focus is on me!! just letting know all of you out there :D

This is my question too- I see lots of talk of waiting for a Medical Request before doing the exam- I was under the impression the Medical Exam can be done with the forms in the PR App found on the CICS website and planned on doing mine first and then sending it with the application (Spousal)
is that right?

thanks.

thats correct, it reduces the delay

i think i read some where for spousal its alright to do them before hand, but for parents it has to be done when requested...

can you please say more? you phoned them? what exactly they said? thanks

Hi, after waiting 15 months, my wife just had her interview in Bogota. She just has to have her medical re-done, and will recieve her visa. Medical exames are good for one year. Maybe in a few situations they wiave it a bit after, but I think it is almost always neccesary after one year.
