hello,

I wonder for those who had their medicals extended or re-done: have anyone heard back from cic? (ideally with PPR?)

How long does it usually take from medicals renewal until ppr?

When your medicals are renewed, your medical status goes from "You have passed the medical exam." to "You do not need a medical exam". Once your medicals are extended (or new medicals have been submitted), your medical status goes back to "Passed". In my case, the medical extension took 6 days, ie. it took six days for my medical status to change back to "Passed" from "You do not need a medical exam".

The PPR will take is unrelated to your medical extension. How long it'll take to arrive depends on your application.

It reverted again to "You passed the medical exam." after 3 days.

The reason I hoped it's related to PPR is that my application has been sitting for quite some time now, aor 6 dec 2016, so I guessed why now did they remember about my medicals? Especially there's still around 3 months validity left?

Typically, medicals are extended when there's about 2-3 months left on their validity.

May i know at which stage they ask for medical extension .. in the last stage ?

So you think this is a normal pattern?

Typically, your new medical should be requested after your file has been transferred to your LVO.

I am echoing ashu1710 here, the meds would be requested once the file is transferred to your local VO.

You mean transferred for visa stamping?
My file is >9 months old, it was transferred long time ago

Hi,

Its been a year since I submitted my application. I got a message today from CIC asking for new medicals. Review of medical exam says " we have requested a medical exam. see message below". I had passed my medicals within few days of submitting my application last July. Any idea why these new medicals are required?

Thanks,
SR

because theyre only valid for a year

How do I know if I got a medical extension? I got an update after my medical expired stating that I do not need a medical examination and that I will be contacted if it changes. However, my spouse's medical is to expire February 2020.

If they will extend your medical, the message will read you have passed the medical on so and so date or they will ask for the remedical
