Hi I got email today from IRCC and they asked me to perform x-ray again after three months and see the chest specialist .... I called IOM lahore and they said the same thing...My smear culture is negative and waiting for my sputum culture result which will be released after 60 days from date of my sputum samples.... I am wondering that what does the chest specialist will do ? Will he perform x-ray on his behalf as well ?? or put me on medication??? even if my all tests are negative ...? Please guide me dear as you been through this Thanks.

Dont worry its normal and part of process, Dr will just see the xray and pass it, Just be truthful with the doctor. Like if you had history then let him know.

You need to do as iom say, follow their protocol and you will pass your medical if your sputum results are negative then they might send you to a panelist doctor , if positive then I am not sure what would be the procedure. But still follow iom's instructions and you should be good.
Hello, can you please tell me how much time did it take between the final results of the (spum test + additional x-ray) and the dispaly of medical passed in the EE profile ?
I know that is about 3 months to get the results. But, what happens after ?
Thank you in advance

Thanks for your kind reply. Yes it seems like they target mostly applicant from south east asia like Pakistan and other . Well I have no previous history of any kind of lungs disease and my both test (smear and sputum culture) are negative by the grace of almighty. Now I just have to perform my 2nd x-ray on 22nd April and then will see chest specialist . After that hopefully I will be clear with medicals. Have you cleared your medical yet?

My husband has been asked for the sputum test also, we are from Algeria !
Our application will be on hold until the final result of x-ray chest.
But, what I want to know, if you have any information about that is : how much it will take to see " medical passed" ?
What I see now, in normal applications is that the MEP is about 47/50 days.
Do we have to wait almost 2 month to get the MEP?
thanks in advance

Well if your first x-ray is not clear and you had additional tests performed as well , then there will be another (2nd) x-ray after 3 month from the date of first x-ray, if you passed that you will be cleared and you will pass you medical. Yes you have to wait for that period its protocol of IOM with the instructions of IRCC and you have to follow it. But no need to worry much its just time consuming and delayed process you will pass you medical eventually. Your file keeps moving during all that time so donot worry about it.

Hello,
Thank you for the reply :)
No choice we have to wait ...
But,do you know how much it will take between the final results ( sputum results + 2nd x-ray) & the update of "Medical" in EE profile ?
More than a week ?

Once you are done with all additional tests along with 2nd xray then it will take time from 7 to 15 days to get uploaded on your file provided that your medical is done by e-medical PP.

Hello everyone! I am quite upset because I was required to do the same thing(an 8 week sputum culture and a second x-ray after 3 months) on Apr 8th.. It was an email from Manila informing me to do these additional test.. I am going to do the test next week and I am so glad to find many useful information here. However, I never had any lung diseases and tuberculosis so I am quite sure I could pass the test.

From another thread of this forum(https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/additional-medical-tests-required.482312/) I found there are some people had the same fates as ours, and they even got their PPR on time (within 6 months from the date of AOR).. That's why I am thinking these time-consuming medical tests will not seriously delay our Express Entry cases...

Hello,
Thank you for the link
I hope that this situation will not delay our application !
My hsuband also has been asked for additional medical exam for TB ( 72 days sputum test + 2nd x-ray) and we are sure that he has nothing.
Good luck,

Hi Everyone,

I am also going through the same problem.

1. I did my first Xray so they found a spot in my chest.
2. I got a mail from immigration to do sputum test and x-ray after 3 months.
3. I did my sputum test and it is negative.

I need to do second Xray now so if I again get a spot in this second x-ray. What IRCC will do? Do they reject my work permit extension? Please answer.

That should mean your spot is stable and you have nothing to do with an active TB, so normally you could get your medical passed very soon!

Hi,

My question is related with sputum test. I had already done my medicals and its expired now. I want to know that does CIC also asked for further sputum tests during Re-Medical?

Thanks,
