Hello,

I'm in the process of immigration to Canada visa Quebec Skilled Worker program.
( Permanent residence from within Canada - Sydney Nova Scotia)

I had first medical exam on April 28.

I'm a Hepatitis B Carrier. so I told about that.
Doctor uploaded my file on the internet.
But after 2 weeks, I had additional blood test HBV and HCV ( result: HBsAg +, Hepatitis C ab -: May 14 )
After Physician told me I need Serum ALT test. (result: normal (29) - May 21)

E-cas message updated on June 10..

Dear,

Its a total misconception that if the Medicals Results received gets updated in E-cas one has passed the Medical stage. Generally, the clinic follows IMEI flow chart manual where in they are supposed to carry out basic tests like Blood and Urine analysis, Chest X-ray and Physical Examination. This is a standard procedure for people with no medical history. However, for those having history of diseases like Hepatitis, Tuberculosis, High BP, Cardiac Problems, Renal, Kidney Issues etc., they do some additional tests as well which again are a standard set of test mentioned in IMEI medical manual. At this stage, the clinic uploads your file irrespective of the test results. After a while it gets updated in E-cas as received, and the file goes to the health officer/doctor for review. Once reviewed the file is send back to the your Case Officer (VO) with comments. Its the case officer who will decide the future course, either to request additional tests or give you a fairness letter based on your medical results.

You can even find this in the E-cas ( Table showing the application status chart ), find below the extract from it for the Medical results received status interpretation,

Medical Results Received by CIC
We have received your medical results. We will contact you only if additional tests are needed.

Hi Sarlyy, I guess the Medicals are through as much as i can say. They will update the medicals once you are through with further tests completed.. They will not ask for additional tests post the update. In your case they are already done with tests and so nothing to worry.

And looking at your scenario,

HbSAg is done as a follow up test after 30 days. So its mandatory that the hospital notifies the patient and ask for a follow up test. I don't think so this is done on request by CIC/VO. This is completely private follow up by the hospital.

So do not worry! Please call and check with your clinic as well and update!

Hi, sarlyy, im a newbie here and have the same situation as you are before but the thing is my husband has hepa b and im sponsoring them through economic class therefore he is not excempted on medical inadmissability. His immigration doctor ask him to do some further testing and it took him 3mos before they confirm that he has hepa b +.. The doctor uploaded his medical record stating that he has hepa last january and now upon checking my e-cas update, it was updated to "Medical result have been received". i just want to know if in your case, did having that update means that youre through/ done with your medical and have already passed?

im hoping for your response since im really worried about my application.

thanks.

Hello:

My daughters have Glycogen Stoarage Diseae (GSD) type 6 since 2010 (USA). Doctors in Texas found that for the older one in 2010 and so they tested my younger one while she was born in 2011. GSD 6 patients must eat in every 3-4 your some rich carbohydrate food. Uncooked corn starch is the best (medicine) food for them. They cannot eat sucrose and fructose. So, their sugar level will go down if they are fasting (i.e.they have hypoglycemia due to GSD 6). But, as long as they eat proper food like I mentioned above they can have a normal life. By the way, they can eat foods line protein, vegetable, fruit (moderate amount).

We had medical test last wee and I had to be honest with the doctor in Edmonton (Canada) regarding our health. My wife and I passed the medical exam. But, our panel physician got information from our daughters' doctor regarding their health/disease and the doctor (panel physician) wants to see our daughters again for follow up. I talked to the nurse and she told me that the doctor wants to discuss about their low sugar level information/history.

We were consulting with specialist regarding our daughters since they arrived in Canada in 2015. Last check up they had was in January 2017. I do not think that it cost more than $1000.00 (doctor check up fee and lab test). So, I so not think that it will cross the excessive medical limit. This disease (GSD 6) is not contagious.

Do I have to worry about the follow up?

I think the doctor wants to know about how the previous doctor knew about GSD 6. I think I have to tell them about USA doctor right?

Do I have to take all the doctor's report/lab results (USA) along with me for the follow up visit?

Are we in trouble? I think that we are ok since the disease GSD 6 is contagious and it does not cost that much money (but I am worried).

Please provide some input/suggestions to prepare for the visit.

Thanks
