It is my understanding that the age has changed from 22 to 19 recently for dependent children, can anyone confirm this.

We recently received an email, addressed to my husband's son, requesting a medical, he is 19 years old.

He just turned 19 in October 24, 2015 as well and email is dated October 30th 2015.

It states the following on the document:

IMPORTANT: You are required to undergo the medical examinations within 30 days of the date of this

letter. Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application.

We are not filing any application to bring my husband's son to Canada, nor will he ever want to as he has his own wife and child in the USA. In any case, can anyone tell me if I can just ignore this or does this failure to respond apply to my husbands application?

I guess I am just a little confused as to why they would even send a request for someone that is not a dependent anymore, is it an oversight or should I be contacting them, which seems to be impossible too.

Thank you in advance for any input anyone has on the above.

Ignore it and your app will be delayed and possibly refused.

You received the request because his age was locked in as a dependent minor at the time you submitted the app.

Send a letter explaining that he is now married and above the age of dependency and as such, you request he be removed as a dependent from the app.
