Hi Freinds,

I have a doubt.
How to deal Medical Request during pregnancy?
According to a doctor(CIC approved), they wont take chest X-rays till the completion of 4 months(2.5 months now).
But after that they put a sheild and take the X-rays with the concent of the patient.
Will CIC accept x-rays with the shield on?
Should we inform CIC abt the pregnancy now?(I am sure this will further delay the process)
Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
GK

I can't answer about notifiying CIC about pregnancy, but they will accept x-ray with the shield. It's just a little lead skirt they put over your lower abdominal area, doesnt affect view of lungs, which is what they will be looking at.

You are better off telling them about the pregnancy. That way, you can explain the delay in sending your medicals as well as why you are using a shield.

Why do you think it would delay your application? Nobody can say for sure when you will get the visa after your medicals. Being pregnant will likely not make it faster or slower.

However, if you see that you are unable to land at the time you get your PPR because you are too pregnant to fly, you must delay sending your passport until the baby is born and add it to your file.

Another issue when arriving in Canada pregnant is health care. If you go to Ontario or BC, you will have a 3 month waiting period before you are covered so you would have to pay for the delivery yourself.
