Everyone,

Can we do medicals and submit while the application in process, has anybody ever done that? If so, what needs to be followed.

Thanks.
Chandy.

if you mean to ask whether you can go ahead and do your medicals even before receiving your MR from CIC, then the answer is YES.

Downsides
(1) your medicals will expire in one year. So if your application is delayed, you might have to redo medicals.
(2) you are never sure about when the application could be rejected and on what grounds. So if your application is rejected, then your medicals go for a toss.

Thanks, so we just have to do inform the recognized physician to do medicals for PR and send it to visa office using the Unique client identification number, right?

Yes. You can call up the physicians listed on cic portal and get the details.

The only change is that you might require 02 additional photos for the medicals in case you have not received the MR from CIC. And do take note of the new procedure as well (eMedicals).

Hey where did you read this? Does it mean that PR has to be granted or application rejected within 1 year of medical request?

Validity

You can only use your examination results in your application for 12 months from when you had the examination. If you are not admitted to Canada as a permanent resident within this time, you will be required to undergo another examination.

You will receive the medical request by email or regular mail. The medical exam comprises of a physical exam, X-ray, HIV & syphillis tests and any other tests that the DMP deems necessary. e.g. if you have tattoos or piercings(other than your ears), the DMP could request hepatitis tests too.

No, you do not have to send your medicals along with the application forms.

Your application forms under CEC go to CIO, Nova Scotia.

You do medicals when the VO requests you to do it. You can do it in advance if you want but I really do not see much of a point in that (some people think it makes your application move faster). Either way, your medical reports under CEC will go directly from the DMP to the corresponding regional medical office. So sending the medicals and application forms together is not quite a possibility.

Can someone forward me, how the medical request email or post mail looks like?

For me, it was a simple email as below with 3 attachments - the medical form, instructions for me, instructions for the DMP.

Dear Applicant,

Medical instructions are enclosed with this letter. Please open and follow these instructions carefully.
Please print the attached forms and take them to the Designated Medical Practitioner.

Best Regards,
