Hi Friends,
I have applied for PR and. I still waiting for my first letter from CIO. I have no problem with points system, language requirement. The only issue I thinking about is my daughter case. She is 7 year old and diagnosed with Propionic Acidemia. This is genetic disorder where the body cannot break down certain protein components. The results, she is disabled person; she cannot stand or walk. However, she is healthy person. She never hospitalized as we arrived in Canada 3 years ago as students. She followed by specialist at McMaster Hospital; one visit every six months. She is taking certain medication to keep acids down in her body. I used to pay personally for most of her medication as my insurance company cover only some.

Is this can create any issue in my application? If yes, what is the option I could have to do?
TPR visa, what is this type of visa? Also, waive request, or even about exclude member of the family.

Another suggestion is to go for Humanitarian and Companionate application. My child could face hardship if we return home. In fact there, is no specialist who can follow here in my home country. Here there is special clinic at McMaster Hospital where she received her accurate diagnosis and required follow-up.

If your daughters medical problem is deemed to cause excessive demand on health care, then your family could be denied for PR but it doesn't sound like she would fall under excessive demand. Her specialist would have to write a report on her. If she were denied, you could appeal but it could take a long time. You would have to show that either her problems do not cause excessive demand or that you will take care of them yourself.

Hi Salem,

I have a similar case to yours. My second daughter is Down's Syndromic. I guess you are aware of it, it is also a genetic disorder, Mental Retardation. We applied in Feb,2007; got our medical requests in March, send them in Apirl, 2010. We then got a request for further "Psycological Evaluation". We did this and sent it to them, they received it on the 10th June,2010. Since then we are waiting for either a passport request or a "Fairness Letter". We are also sure of our points, eligibility, language and the rest. What we do not know is the medical admissibility. Will certainly inform you of the outcome if/when we get it.

Hi,

@Salem and Mirza

It would be great if I can know what happened in your case .
We are in Canada on a work permit since 2009 . My wife has Ulcerative colitis and she is on an expensive medication Remicade .
Remicade is paid out of employer Insurance plan entirely. Would be great to know your case.
