hello medallion67,
actually the appointment in july has nothing to do with the immigration process;its just a mandatory procedure that is done by a physician when someone has a health problem to refer them to a specialist.this appointment is just a consultation as to see what treatment will be best for her.however my immigration application is being processed as normal:no further medical tests required so we are looking at mid march to get passport request.hope this helps and god bless

hello patience!
we also have the same case, we had our medicals last october 2009 and unfortunately my husband tested + w/ hepa and since his sgpt was more than 1.5x higher than normal he was referred to a specialist for additional tests and evaluation,it was only in december that his medical report was submitted to to the embassy and after that we received a letter from the embassy for repeat sgpt but since the sgpt was still high, he is required to go back to the specialist on feb 25...What do you think does this imply?btw, we are from the philippines

hope you can enlighten me

thanks!

hello ndd0917,
how are you.you guys will be okay.if an application is going to be rejected the embassy would not bother to have him get a repeat of his medical exam so this means they are considering the application,so don't worry.some people get rejection letters within a month of sending their medicals if they are found medically inadmissible.in my wife's case her liver is perfectly healthy ,the only problem is that she has been infected with the virus.once your husbands liver is working as normal it will be okay.i have come to know that hepatitis b is not a life threatening disease and people can live long healthy lives without even developing liver problems ,so good is good, keep praying.your case is quite similar to mine, the only difference is that the embassy has not asked her to do a repeat of her medicals, her condition is satisfactory, and our e case was recently updated to medicals have been received and we are waiting for passport request.remember the specialist he was referred to has nothing to do with immigration.it is just a mandatory procedure done by dmp's to refer new patients infected with the virus so that they can be treated as soon as possible.hope this information helps and don't get discouraged, you have come too far to give up now,it will be okay and god bless

hello CRAZY25,
first of all be honest with your husband and tell him because my wife was also afraid to tell me she had it but it was no fault of hers cause she never knew she had it until she did her immigration medical exams so tell your husband.secondly i would advice you to go see a doctor as to what treatment they can offer and to re-do some laboratory test to see how severe your case is cause my wife is hepa b positive and her liver is quiet well, its great so even though you have the condition you can still live a happy healthy normal life without even getting liver problems which will mean your application will be approved once there is no liver damage.for you i say do some test, consult your doctor, everything will be okay and god bless.hope this helps
