Hi All,

I don't think anyone from the east should be complaining about the process being "slow" because us westerners (Alberta) are not on your level lol.. Applied since May and nothing has happened. Calgary office. I see ridiculously amazing timelines averaging 6-7 months for eastern provinces and I'm sitting here like wow! That is great! Average here is literally 24 months sooo let's all be patient. It will happen.

good news!! so, the background checks was done in the local office not in Sydney?

So I called CIC just now. My file is in Scarborough office and as per agent, they just finished background checks on my case. He said they'll soon issue a letter to write test. No indication of how long it would be though. Glad to hear that finally heading in the right direction

It seems like they do some checks to see if it is a routine application or RQ is reqd. At local office , apparently more background checks are performed. It could be security checks too.

I was told couple of months ago when I called Sydney, they said my app deemed to be regular app and now was told that local office completed background checks.

congrats none, it is the best news ever. it means that Montreal office will start in June's applications then Ottawa follows. thanks for sharing

My application was received May 13, 2014, but I still didn't receive the test letter.
My Office is Montreal as well.

Could you please tell me if your status has changed in CIC website when you login, telling that you have been invited for the test ?
