Usually they do in a few days but in some cases can even take months if they are verifying the data with other agencies
How kind of you to register a new account which has never been used for anything else, just to show up here, answer a question no-one had asked and which does not apply (IRCC never asks for faxes anymore), and post linkspam.

Any update on your application? I am inquiring for a friend who is on the same boat with you... applied May 2024, last update was Aug 2024 and nothing after. Any suggestion would be appreciated!
If you are waiting on your application from a long time, try this:
Submit a webform and attach any document relevant to your application.
This will prompt the office to look at your application.

I am also at the same boat. Applied on May 2024. We are stuck in deep screening check. Sent webforms 4-5 times, contacted MP 3 times without any progress! Unfortunately, I think still should wait for another 8-9 months. why? the IRCC application processing times page now shows how many applicants are waiting ahead of you by your month of application. what I could get there by setting application date on different months of 2024 is that they monthly finalize about 2500 applicants that are stuck from 2024 and about 27000 applicants are ahead of us. So maybe another 8-9 months should wait. Maybe not reasonable but IRCC is a black hole that nobody knows what happens there. Maybe considering a writ of Mandamus is a good idea. but without a lawyer it is complicated and with lawyer it costs something between 2000-8000$ based on each case! Not much thing we can do. People from Oct- Nov 2023 or even earlier are still waiting!

I asked them about my application yesterday for 5th time via webform. They have substituted people with AI bots. I sent the webform at 4 pm eastern time and today I got their generic response that we are working hard on applications and we will contact you if we need any additional documents. The email has arrived at 4:00 AM!!! They have fired federal workers and substituted them with silly useless AI bots. The system is collapsing and if it is takes years, it is not important anymore. everywhere see corruptions and chaos, health care, housing, economy, unemployment,immigration, ................

I am at same boat as you. My wife tried to split her application twice by sending Webform but in either case she received a message from them that they would not realize what she was asking for. It seems web forms are handled by silly AI agents. They have obliterated the whole country by their decisions. The only thing that I could do is to send emails weekly to member of parliament and immigration minister and complain about the situation. Now we are approaching 2 years of waiting. My friend applied in this September and tomorrow he will receive his citizenship. I suggest all people like us to send email to immigration minister and cc the opponent conservative authorities to put more pressure on them
