That is awesome! Did you check on your own or did you get an email notification to check the CIC? I don't want to check every hour of every day... but at the same time I hope that we get a notification soon the same way you did. We got our SA on the 23rd, so maybe soon?

I also see your did you medicals right before sending it all it... would your notification mean that they got the medicals and attached them to your file? Cause we did our medical probably about a month before we sent everything in, so I'm wondering if we will get the same notification like you did.

I usually check the CIC website daily and the message just appeared today. To be honest I'm not sure if that means the results just arrived, hopefully it does!

And again more news:

Went to my bank online and found out Quebec already charged my credit card,

things are moving ok! :o

May Approval Times

For those of you still awaiting SA (including yours truly), on my downloaded version of the spreadsheet I changed column H to reflect approval times and then did an average. So far the average SA time is about 63 days (of course it will go up with further approvals). Of interest is the fact that the fastest approval time is 57 days and that trend seems to be continuing for June applicants. Also things have been picking up recently on average (but not for us :().

Small update on our situation.

Got an email back from Ottawa exactly one week after emailing them. In response to my eloquently worded email enquiring why they sent our application to Ottawa vs Vienna all I got back was:

"Dear Applicant,

I have retrieved your application and your file will be shipped to Vienna as you requested.

Kind regards,
Case Processing Centre - Ottawa blah blah blah"

First of all, in my email I didn't re-request Vienna, I merely asked if it was a mistake that our application was sent to Ottawa vs Vienna. I can't help but feel like we're being punished for calling them out on a mistake. On the other hand, at least I know (think/hope) our application will find it's correct resting place for the next 14 + months.

*sigh* Why couldn't I have fallen in love with a nice Canadian bloke?!

My spouse followed up today and he was told they are working on our application and that we should get a response anytime now up to 1.5 mths. I was thinking wtf. Why would they say 1 and a half mths... I think this is another call back and a follow up to get more information on what's going on.. Any others with any updates?
i'll call tomorrow to find out.

I don't think they are referring to your email when they say "like you requested". They're referring to form IMM0008, question 4 - Immigration office requested for processing this application - which I assume you answered with "Vienna".

This is actually them realizing their mistake. They pulled your file, saw it's an outland application to be processed in Vienna, and they corrected their mistake. You won't hear them apologize for anything, but at least now your file is in the right place. It would have wasted precious time in Ottawa until someone would have realized it's in the wrong place.

Well, by definition, this forum branch has only those people who did the same thing as you :P So at least we are all in this together :)

I too just checked my ECAS, and it says "Medicals received". Does that mean my huge box made it to the VO and they actually opened it?

When did you do your medicals? When did you get your SA? Sorry, just trying to see if there's a pattern here.

I actually had my wife do medical in November 2013 - I was a naively optimistic guy at that time, and was hoping to submit application the day after the wedding :D Then I submitted the file on May 3rd, received by them on May 7th. I am the current record holder for longest SA duration without reason for delay - 80 days ;D I got mine on 28th July.

So... CIC's website was updated today to 56 days of turn-around and that they're working on applications received June 4th. Still no word about ours (received May 21st).

I called, yet again, and was told that they take the applications in "blocks" and they just started working on the June block yesterday. The woman I spoke to sent off an inquiry, but I don't know what that will accomplish.

I reached out to my MP and we representative said they wouldn't be willing to help until at least late August because "you're common-law and that takes longer so they probably will want to send your application to LA." Disheartening. :(

Oh wow... OK... so you got SA 28th and now on 31st they tell you they got your medicals? Congrats!!!

You included the medical info in your package right? I'm just curious to know if "medicals received" is something you get from them even if you do your medicals months ahead like you did. I'm checking the CIC page to see when they will update it with the "medicals received" note.
