You should try and get some sort of letter from someone as my original application was refused as they wasn't happy with the letter I originally supplied. They wanted a very detailed letter. Which they didn't tell me before refusing me bearing in mine that they told me after waiting for 7 months.

I have already included the type of letter that you mention. I got one of my senior colleagues to sign a detailed work experience letter (of course without company letterhead) and attached his visiting card along with it. It also has a detailed cover letter and lots of other supporting docs like pay stubs and T4s etc... Not sure what more I could have done.. And god only knows what more they expect :(

Our spreadsheet is not updated again. Is there any way to get a password? I'm ready to edit it myself, if needed.
As per my understanding, some people get MR very fast, others who applied around the same time have to wait. I tried to read similar posts for previous months applicants (April, March) and look at their spreadsheets. But I don't know if their spreadsheets are up to date or not and how many people with no information there just do not update anything because they stopped using the forum or don't have time to do it.

I've see the first half of June 2014 applicants getting their MRs, while a lot of April applicants haven't heard anything. Any ideas on the time-frames for people whose applications were sent for second review? I think mine is among them. I've ordered GCMS notes, but I will get them only in a month. My friend, whose documents were received by CIC on May 27th, same as me, and whose AOR was issued on July 7th, two day before me, received MR on January 20th. I haven't heard anything from CIC and I don't think I will any time soon.

I am in the exact same situation as yours, my friend. My friends who applied 2 weeks after me got the MR requests. Mine on the other hand is in oblivion.

I just got email from CIC that my application has been transferred from the Sydney office to the Ottawa office.

"Dear Sir/Madam:

Please be advised that your file was transferred to Case Processing Centre - Ottawa (CPC-O). As your file is no longer in our office, we are unable to comment on it. Please direct your enquiries and additional information to that office. Their email address is:

CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca"

Does anyone think this implies that my application is undergoing a 2nd review? Any thoughts from anyone?

This is normal. Processing office for Inland application is in CPC-Ottawa.
All applications are initially screened at Sydney and once complete then transferred to CPC-Ottawa for the actual processing.

Thanks cee12345. That is good to know. I had emailed the Sydney office in Nov '14 to inform them of my change in residence and employment. To that email, they gave the above response. I wonder why they replied so late and also whether they took into consideration the updates I provided or not. I have emailed the Ottawa office just in case. And praying that maybe this may do the trick and I will get some positive news in the coming week.

You get a receipt online and you download it in PDF format. You will get the PDF file, fill in the information and send it in an email to CIC.
