Let's say my application got returned, shouldn't there be a note on my file indicating that? Shouldn't I be getting a refund to my Visa card? Would anyone know?

Yes, CIC will tell you the reason for return. You can use the same payment receipt for re-submission. You don't have to pay again. Getting a refund from CIC is a different process.

You won't get an automatic refund and they might only refund you the Right of Citizenship fees which is $100.

Hello!
Thank God I found someone in my situation.

Here is my timeline:

1.We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on May 27, 2013.

2.We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on May 27, 2013. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

3.We started processing your application on September 10, 2013.

But to be honest guys, something weird is going on. The CIC have processed my application a bit late. Also, it says that the AOR has been sent on May 27, 2013. I called the CIC two weeks ago to inquire about the AOR (at that time I didn't have the AOR on hand and I thought that my mail was lost somehow). I was informed that the AOR was sent on Sep 10, 2013 and not as it shows on the site May 27, 2013. Haaaa? Ok. I thanked the lady and that was it. Still waiting. But can I trust the update? I don't think so. What do you think guys? I like this support group :D ;D 8)

Farrous13,

You are no way close to my situation! CIC don't have a file for me opened yet and my application was received May 27!

I called CIC again today and they tried looking up my file but no luck, they said my last chance is to provide them with the payment receipt number to look up my file using it, I didn't have it on me at that time so will call again tomorrow. I'm starting to lose hope! Sigh

Hey Guys,

I got the AOR today. Lool when I was writing my message above (when I was at work), I was like "I am sure I will get the AOR, just bcoz I mentioned it". loool

I don't like how our files are being handled. Top it off with a wait time of 25 months. That's crazy. I mean I have been here for 9 years and I have yet to get my citizenship. I studied here, worked, paid taxes...etc. Yet I still have to wait 25 months. A while ago it was 4 months. Too much waiting. It is the way it is. Good luck to you guys.

We will make it... ;D
