Hey Guys,

I am a June '13 applicant. Just wrapped up my Medicals and paid up the RPRF.

One question I had- I have never lived outside of Canada for more than 6 months since I was 18, and thus I did not apply for or submit Police Clearance Certificates. Is this a mandatory requirement? Or should I wait for CIC to get in touch with me if and when it is required?

Let me know what your opinion is, thanks.
They will contact you when they need it. They did not ask me for one, which was apparently not the norm.
In your case since you have been in Canada since 18, I think you don't need it.

I just sent the local Toronto PCC just incase along with my applications and I did not get any request for PCC after, since i was in Canada ever since I was 17

If they didn't request one by now, then there are no further documents required from you. I got my PCC request a day or 2 before my MR.

Hello All,

I am a June 2013 applicant. I got my PPR and ready to send them to CIC. Just one question as my lawyer has asked to submit the PP to them and they will in turn send it to CIC which I think will take extra time. So, can I submit them to CIC directly with return mailing address on the return Canada Xpresspost envelope? Saying that, Mailing address for the application is that of lawyers office, so hope that wont be an issue if I send the PP directly. Can anyone advise.

Same thing here... I was asked to provide PCCs and I'm still waiting. And just so you know, CIC acknowledged that they have received everything they wanted from me so far; I wanted to make sure that I'm waiting for nothing.

Why not! I would skip the lawyer and send it to them directly!

Thanks iKhalid, but the mailing address for my application is lawyers office address and if I submit the PP with return mailing address of my home address will that cause any issue or delay in my PP return.

I too confirmed that iKhalid and My ECAS shows that meds are received. Looks like we are at the mercy of VO now.

Send it directly to CIC, and write in the return XpressPost envelop the lawyer's address just in case.

You can directly send your passports to CIC. I did the same. Instead of giving my lawyers address I gave my address and receive my passports.

Give your address only. Lawyers address is not required in the return envelope.

I am thinking of doing the same but on my application and also on ECAS the updated mailing address is Lawyers address. So, which means when CIC gets my PP, stamps Visa and on return find out that the address mentioned on the return envelope is different that the mailing address on the application. Then will they try to hold the PP and confirm the validity or will they still go and send the PP on the return envelope address.

It does not matter. Infact for myself and my family also given address was my lawyer's address. After getting PPR my lawyer only suggested me to give my home address. I did the same and received our passports at home address yesterday. They will only verify your passports and return envelope.

I have a query for the guys who already did landing. I am planning to stay in USA for more than 24 hours before landing in order to qualify for $200 duty free limit. Can I bring alcohol while coming back?

In normal scenario we are not allowed. Will this rule apply while landing on PR?
