What is the best time to obtain LMO approval when WP is expiring in Oct 2013? I am planning to apply CEC in DEC and am not sure if by october 2013, I will have my PR formalities done.

So, I will have to extend my stay legally. What are possible options that I have ..

1. Wife get Study Permit and I go on Open WP
2. Vistor Visa and stay and wait for CEC ..- in this case, one has to leave Job.
3. Obtain a new +ve LMO and apply extension ( Ideal situation).

And the last one -
Can I stay even after WP is expired under implied status..? Can some please explain this?

I am postdoc(NOC 4122) and new to this forum. I have been working in Canada on TRV since May 2010. It is more than 2&1/2 yrs. My term will be ending in May 2013. I may continue it for 1 or 2 more year after May 2013. I am planning to apply for PR under CEC. My IELTS is on Saturday. Guide me whether CEC category is okay or not. Or I am eligible for FSWP. What's IELTS band is needed? Hogw long will it take to PR.
Thanks

post-doctoral fellow NOC:

Post-doctoral fellows can be either the direct recipients of an award or be offered a time-limited position to undertake research on behalf of or as part of a team of researchers. Universities vary in their methods and criteria used in assessing candidates and offering post-doctoral fellowships. Officers should assess the written offer from a responsible academic official (professor or higher) which will state the amount of remuneration, location, nature and expected duration of the term of employment, and will not be concerned with the source of remuneration.
Occupational code
Given the absence of an occupational code in the NOC for post-doctoral fellows, please use the applicant‘s specialty. For example, an applicant in Earth Sciences could be coded 2113 as a geologist or 2115.2 as a soil scientist.
Please DO NOT code post-doctoral fellows as post-secondary research assistants, NOC code 4122.1, as this creates internal problems at universities and impacts applications for permanent residence, since the educational and skill levels are lower.

Fortunately, you have a number of options! One of them is the Engineering Scientist (under NOC 2148) which is described in a manner very suitable to most engineering related postdoctoral positions.

i have a question, if you dont hear from the immigration after receiving your AOR for almost 2months does that mean you are accepted? or there is still a possibility that you might be rejected?

We have got the PCC request from CIC... so just wanted to know if any of you have an idea that what is the validity for the Indian Police clearance certificate from the date of issue. My date of issue for the Indian PCC is June 02,2012. So just want to know if its still valid to send it to CIC.

In the CIC website's CEC application instruction says: "The (police) certificate must have been issued no more than three months prior to submitting your application." Considering this is November 14th, unfortunately your police clearance is still not valid to send...

PCC is valid for one year from the date of original issue , scroll down on this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5610E.PDF
