Hello, my name is Hector and currently I am a 21 years old Mexican law student. This is my first time on this forum (looked all over the net for forums and this seems to be the most complete one) and I have so many questions, so if you dont mind I would like to explain my situation first.
Back on High school I studied a summer semester (from May to July) (part of my school's programs) on Columbia International College in Hamilton, Ontario; it was indeed a wonderful experience, the country, the people, the culture, the education I received (and the financial lessons I learned after finishing my funds for the month in 2 weeks! :-X ), it was all great. To put it simple I wish I was born there.
Fast forward to the present day and I am just a year from graduating from law school and many questions about my future have naturally started to pop up on my head. What I wish the most are mainly 2 things.
1. To do a Master's degree outside of Mexico.
2. To live outside of Mexico and start a new life (As much as I love my country, sadly the on going violence is making Mexico a tough dangerous place to live in)
So these are my questions:
1. What are the top Canadian Law Schools? How hard are they?
2.What paperwork do I require to enter Canada? (las time around I was 17 so my school and parents did all the paperwork)
3. I currently have 92 out of 100 as my grades average, are there any scholarships I could apply to?
4. If I do my masters on Canada will I be able to work as a lawyer there? (im thinking an LLM or similar degree)
5. Im leaving (or at least plan to) a year after graduation at most, do Visas take too long?
and the last part of my inquiry:
Im told I should apply for a student Visa, but what If I want to immigrate to Canada after completing my Masters?
How can I accomplish this? Do I require another Visa type?
Any advice?
Also I forgto to mention, I have a cousin who already has Canadian Nationality, can this fact help me out ??
