Hello.
I am a University Professor of Dance and Movement currently in a relationship with a woman in Ontario. We are intending to get married soon. I worked previously as a self employed dance teacher with extensive international teaching and performing experience. I currently live in the US but plan to move to Canada in May or June. I don't have a job offer and, unless I get one, I will return to Freelance Self Employment at that time.

I also have an Irish Passport as well as a US one. Would applying through that passport, as a

Can anyone suggest which route would be the fastest for my residency application?

Definitely not the self employment stream. Hard to qualify and extremely long processing times.

Getting married and then being sponsored by your wife outland will be fastest.

Added note - you can't 'move' to Canada until you actually have permanent residency (or something like a work permit). So until then, all you're allowed to do is visit. This means you can't bring all of your stuff with you, can't work, and won't qualify for (free) provincial health care.
