marriage certificate from south america

I got married in Uruguay and I am from canada, i went to the Canadian embassy in Uruguay to make to documents legal in Canada. now I do I need to take any steps when I come to Canada and where can I go to find out info or get a copy of my marriage certificate in Canada?

If you're looking at sponsoring your spouse, you don't need to register your marriage in Canada. As long as your marriage was legal in the country where it was performed, CIC will accept your marriage certificate from Uruguay to sponsor your spouse (with a certified translation from Spanish most likely in your case).
