MINISTERIAL INSTRUCTIONS RESPECTING INVITATIONS TO APPLY FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE UNDER THE EXPRESS ENTRY SYSTEM (MARCH 23, 2016)

Determination — number of invitations

1. (1) For the purposes of paragraph 10.2(1)(b) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the number of invitations that may be issued during the period beginning on March 23, 2016 and ending on March 24, 2016 is 1,014.

Required rank

(2) Foreign nationals who, on March 23, 2016 at 12:20:45 UTC, have been assigned a total of 470 points or more under the Comprehensive Ranking System that is set out in the Ministerial Instructions Respecting the Express Entry System, as published in the Canada Gazette, Part I, on December 1, 2014 and as amended from time to time, occupy the rank required to be invited to make an application for permanent residence.

Hang in there guys. It will drop eventually and if the wait is killing, then you can opt for OINP too !

Hate to say but there might be few more draws with around 1000-1100 ITAs. I hope everyone gets ITA before the situation goes against them. Hopefully, Immigration minister makes changes in EE to help international students too. It breaks your heart if your work permit runs out and you have to return. :-\

I heard they were going to award some "extra" point for CEC candidates. I think I read it yesterday.... About time they should award them ..because now the guys at 450-465 started to worry !

Not sure why ITA reduced while there are plans to take more economic immigrants in 2016... Any thoughts?

Looks like I was right with my predictions about ITAs this month. Going forward, I expect this trend to continue until at least June.

They have a backlog of economic Express Entry immigrants from 2015, who are expected to make up the bulk of their economic immigrant intake this year. Also, they are not planning to take in more economic immigrants this year, but a lesser amount than last year.

Such a move would be fundamentally antithetical to how EE is structured, unless they just increase points awarded for Canadian experience.

I am at 467... Damn!!!!

I do expect the cutoff to drop to 467 at least once, some time around mid April

Haven't they reduced number of express entry immigrants in their projections for 2016 by about 20%?

Since this plan may be retroactive, right now they reduced ITA by more than 20% for a while until they balance out greater ITA # from Jan & Feb.

What do you think?

someone told that CIC is clearing backlog of 2014 candidates. One of my friend got his medical request for his application made in Sep 2014. Hope score will drop after backlog cleared.
