I will raise a complaint. I am already frustrated with the application being stuck on Background and Prohibition for months now.
Does CBSA handle physical presence only?
IRCC can access CBSA information to know our physical presence. When we applied for the citizenship, it automatically gives the consent to IRCC to access our CBSA data.

Waiting for background and prohibitions. No interviews. No fingerprint requests.
Montreal?

While there’s no defined timeline for background check completion, the pattern seems to fall into two extremes: either it’s done within about 3 months if you are lucky, or it gets prolonged for 24–36 months. There rarely seems to be a middle ground. That said, someone mentioned yesterday that their background check was completed after 9 months of complete silence. They’re a December applicant. So at least there’s a small glimmer of hope.

I received my GCMS notes, and everything seems to be in progress except for CSIS pending- Clearance pending. Security doesn't show as in progress or started. Does this mean my application will be one of those unlucky ones that get dragged for months or years?

I also got my GCMS today. everything in progress and it's waiting for a PM03 review. Do you also have this in your GCMS?

Monthly IRCC statistics have just been released. The number of outstanding applications increased from 290.7K to 297K. For March applicants, the number of files ahead of us dropped from 78.8K to 72K—a reduction of 6.8K cases, or roughly 9% of the previously outstanding applications before ours. Despite the rise in overall backlog, the published average processing time remains unchanged at 13 months.
IRCC indicates that anyone applied prior to August 2024 (about 37K applications, or 12% of the total) as possibly non routine and needs more time to process them.

I got my GCMS notes too and they have the comment about the PM03 review which means the process will take longer than usual.

In my case they sent it to the senior officer to verify physical presence since I also used non-PR days. Did a quick search and it seems like the majority of files with PM03 review get called for an interview.

I could be wrong but I think the PM03 review makes the file non-routine.
