Hi friends, whoever is still hanging here, I'd greatly appreciate your advice. I feel I am getting some sort of anxiety and obsession with FB and tracker and following the updates on other people who are waiting for Bg and prohibition. Does anyone have practical tips to keep my mind distracted for long enough (at least a week or so)? I tried deleting the FB or removing the website but I keep coming back like an addixtion and it's interrupting my life!

What I do is, I worry about only stuff that is in my control, and do not worry about stuff that isn't as worrying about it is not going to change the outcome. Hope it helps.. I am in the same boat as you for the status of the application, waiting for background and prohibitions status to be updated....

And I am keeping a close watch on the progress, if nothing moves till say end of Jan 2026, I might decide to apply for PR Card Renewal, as mine is expiring in Jul of next year and I need to travel to India in Jul. as a counter measure from my side. and I believe in case my citizenship grant is done before the PR card is renewed the fees paid could potentially be refunded, even if I don't get it back, its fine as a small cost to be paid to retain my sanity.

Thank you for your insight. I appreciate it dearly!

Hey. I may not be the best person to reply to this post as I am in the same situation but I’m only there because (if you’ve seen my earlier post) I have two life events in 2026 that highly depend on me obtaining a citizenship. Otherwise I would probably not think about it much and simply let it happen when it happens. I remember my PR application took a good 10 months and I never really bothered about it because I was never in a hurry.

Hello Friend,
I totally understand what you are feeling. I have been in the same situation, constantly checking tracker many times a day, and it really does start to feel like an addiction. But I’ve been doing a bit better lately, mostly because I realized that worrying about it doesn’t change anything. None of us know when the process will end, and there’s nothing we can do to speed up the process.
It helped me is reminding myself of that whenever I feel the urge to check. Little by little, it’s gotten easier. I still slip sometimes, but the pressure isn’t as heavy as before.

Please remember! You are definitely not alone in this, thousands out there in the same situation. It is possible to get some peace of mind. Be easy on yourself! We will get through this! The good thing is that the time never stops.... sending you prayers. Good luck!
