Hello All,
Hope everyone is keeping safe in these trying times!!
A newbie here, I'd sent out my single citizenship application on March 30 and it was received on April 3. I believe it is too early to presume an AOR- however, what could be an assumed timeline for receiving an AOR notification amidst the current Covid-19 crisis?
Also, I moved to a new address, in the same city after sending the application and I read on their website that I need to inform them of any changes, including address change but I cannot seem to do that as I do not have any case number yet? Am I missing out on anything here? Can I change my address before getting an AOR? if yes, can someone be kind enough to let me know the process?
That's a great question. I have the same doubts. Can someone help? Thanks!!

I had to contact IRCC and one of the things they said was this: 'However, rest assured that this situation is normal since the responsible office is currently processing applications received before January 14, 2020. ' Not sure how accurate this is lol, but thought maybe I'd share this.

So once they are processed, then what? No tests or ceremonies? What's the point?

Just to get AOR at this point and be in the system. And that they are saying they are doing some work.

Yes I guess it helps because when you are in the system it might be easier to ask them for an update and be sure that the application wasn't lost...I am in the system but I feel like my test invite won't come for another year and in 2022 my PR card expires

Exactly. My PR is expiring end of August this year, so I am also waiting for that at the same time. Just hoping I don't have to leave the country in the meantime.

They extended expiration date for some documents and might extend for many more (I was talking to the city clerk) so it's a possibility they might even extend PR card validity...Why do we have to pay? If it's not our fault?

They have told exact same thing "However, rest assured that this situation is normal since the responsible office is currently processing applications received before January 14, 2020." On Wed, May 6, 8:13 AM.

It means as per March applicant we are almost behind 78 cases, even if they start the Process today, our applications will be looked at worst case on end of July.

Hopefully ppl who's status are almost near to expiry and is expired, they extended it under special cases related to COVID-19.

Hello All,

I applied citizenship application in the month of March 2020 but haven't back on any confirmation etc. Does anyone know the timelines due to Covid crisis or has anyone received any communication? Is there a phone number to check out things?

Hi all, I applied together with my husband on March 9th from Montreal. Received on the 11th. We are sad that this whole covid situation is delaying our application. But hopefully once things settle a bit, they’ll try to ramp it up!
Waiting anxiously for the AOR!
