Nope.

I got information letter on 20 Aug (AOR may 8, m/br: 30 jun ,couple of gu : 30 july, CEC inland). They will not make the decision without biometrics :)

We have begun processing your application for permanent residence, and in order to make a decision we require the following information/documents:

 Biometrics

Please periodically monitor the following link for updates and complete biometrics once it is safe to do so in your area: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio.../services/coronavirus-covid19/biometrics.html

Please note if you’re between 14 and 79 years old, you need to give your fingerprints and photo for all permanent resident applications, even if you already gave us your biometrics and they’re still valid.

We invite to visit our website to get the most up-to-date information on how the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is affecting immigration, refugees, citizenship and passport services: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19.html
Sad, anyway this is classic case when they are not updating anything regarding something. Usually they keep posting on Twitter if they stopped any service for a while, they are going under site maintenance or any update related to pandemic. Biometric is closed in Canada since almost 5 and half, but no update at all. Just same message on website since march. God bless us

I raised a Web Form last week.
This was their response today.

Good day Name.

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information on file and we are pleased to inform you that everything appears to be in order with the application.

Rest assured that you will be informed as soon as a decision is reached or if additional information is needed.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

We would also like to suggest the following online services that might be helpful to you with any immigration, refugee and/or citizenship future requests:

Sincerely,

For update on my application, is there any difference in the accuracy of the information between raising a web form, ordering gcms notes, or simply calling the IRCC by phone?

Hi everyone,

My case has been 6 months after AOR. I submitted Webform and this was the reply. How many weeks or month do you think I have left?
  • The eligibility verifications is currently valid.
  • The security background verification has not been initiated.
  • The criminal background verification is currently valid.

  • I applied from the US and I’m there presently; I don’t know if that will help you assess my situation any differently.

GCMS are more accurate, with ALL the details about your application. Calling is almost the same as web form but a bit more accurate because you can press the agent more then with the web form

Second that and if you are in Canada your can get the Gcms Notes for free.

Hi,

I recently raised a request on the web forum and got the following reply.
  • The background verifications have not been initiated.
  • The security background verification has not been initiated.
  • The criminal background verification is in process.
  • Your application is currently being processed at the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.
I had asked for an update on my eligibility, criminality and security, but the reply did not mention eligibility.

My AOR is March 17th
MEP on 6th May
FSW-O

Can someone shed some light on what this means? Are background and security background contingent of giving the biometrics which is why they havent been initiated?

I sent a webform asking about updates on my eligibility, security, and criminality and the only reply they gave was this:

"Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information on file and can confirm that your application is currently at the Canadian visa office in Manila, Philippines, for processing.

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is still in process.

All the required documents and information have been received by the responsible office for the moment.

Due to the ongoing situation related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), some IRCC offices are currently operating with reduced or critical staff only.

We are working on processing applications as quickly as possible; however, processing times are affected and any disruption caused by COVID-19 is not reflected accurately on our website. We will make all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible.

Rest assured that you will be informed as soon as a decision is reached or if additional information is needed.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

This is probably the third or fourth time they've replied with something like this when I ask about updates. Sooo frustrating! I don't know if I should be worried. My application hasn't progressed since the first week of June and it's nearing the 6-month mark.

It happens when they’re bothered too often.

Sorry to 'butt in' but if this information was true, IRCC wouldn't keep it a secret. Why? because it, wouldn't cause mass panic or any revolution - it would simply made a lot of people (over 50,000 waiting to start their biometrics) happy. The best thing to do if you are Inland Applicant is to bug your local MP about it. If we pressure them, they will have to take action in this matter.
