Awesome. Ottawa can be a great city in the summer. People walking/biking along the canal, several big name singers coming to the Canadian Tire Centre, and of course all the Canada day activities in downtown.

i am the wife being sponsored, i am from the US. my hubby is from ottawa, is an avid bike rider, and is trying to make me one (not going so well). there is a lot of great stuff to do! we are hoping to get into the free movie night at westboro beach on friday. i feel like ottawa is the best kept secret. the job market seems pretty stable too.

Don't feel pressured to become a is bike rider. I'm sure your husband is aware of the fact that there are bike clubs in Ottawa which he can be part of and meet friends to bike with. The relationships that last are not those where the couple have to do everything together. It is healthy to have your own individual hobbies and interests. That is what friends are for.

Yeah, agreed. lol You won't find me on a bike, ever. lol My husband loves bike riding though, we both like walking/hiking. We balance each other in a lot of things, like at a party or something I might take 5 pictures, and he would take 200. hahaha But then we both like gardening and dogs and superhero movies. lol. It all evens out.

Hey everyone! I got email from my VO today and they requested for scans of my passport! Does it mean im close to end? They wrote:

"Please be advised that in order to continue the processing of your application, you are requested to provide a copy of all pages of your passport by mail, e-mail (warsaw-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca) or by fax (48 22 584-3194). If a copy of passport is sent by e-mail - scan your passport pages in PDF (JPG is also acceptable). Our system will accept attachments up to 9MB only. If you need to compress your documents, please do so in ZIP format (this is the only format accepted by our system). There must be at least two blank pages in your passport. The passport should be valid for the next twelve months and should be the passport that you intend to use to enter Canada. Ordinary passports are the only type of passport into which a permanent resident visa may be inserted. Diplomatic, official and special passports are not acceptable."

So...All pages means all? All 40?

oh i'm totally not pressured. biking is a major hobby for him, and always will be. i am learning about city riding. he knows its not my first choice in activity. i prefer hiking. lots of great places to explore around here! i'm excited to meet some people outside my husband's circle and form my own group of friends up here.

My advice to you is to scan all 40 pages since they said "all pages" because you do not want something as simple as scanning passport pages to delay your application.

And congratulations. It sounds like they started processing your application.

Haha im happy to help, even if it was by accident
Im still very worried about my friend, her package reached CIC on March 28th but its officially lost now Fedex delivered it to the office and someone took it and signed up the document,but after that it disappeared and they cant find it for a month now. Im afraid she will have to start whole application over again, thats so horrible..

Before I get extremely excited, are you sure about this? Where did you see information about the Manila VO processing December applicants? What I read in the Manila English Speaking threat is that the least amount of time it takes to get the passport request from the VO is 8 months after the application is submitted. Well, I have been away for a few weeks, so perhaps things have changed drastically (for the better).




I'm so sure about my posts because im also a member of the manila vo thread..been following that thread since we sent our application to cpc-m( i'm sorry i can't share you that thread because all the conversations there are in Filipino language), or you can add yourself at our FB group you can see there the updates too.. I think that by frst week of July Manila VO will start processing January 2014 applicants...so excited for the coming months..

I think that by frst week of July Manila VO will start processing January 2014 applicants...so excited for the coming months..

I don't speak Tagalog, that is why I don't go on the Filipino Language thread. But you are right, it appears that some people who submitted spouse application in December have received passport request from the Manila VO. This is great, but the question is, will they sustain this speed or will it go back to being 10+ months due to summer leave block which most government employees have.
