Calgary guy...I wonder if sending an email to your MPs office would get things moving. I mean I guess you're only supposed to do it in extreme situations but you will be 14 days over the posted processing time as of tomorrow and they say they are working on applications that are 5 days beyond the date your application was received. Not to mention that you haven't been able to get anything by phoning the office yourself.

Mikeymike I know you're upset but I don't know that calling them would do any good until the make the update this week and move passed the 27th. I don't think you should be worried just yet.

Maybe the assumption was just made from the spreadsheet. The two users who received AOR after only 8 days. The rest seem to be waiting just as long as anyone else though.
Yeah, the 8 days was a bit unusual, but as I understand it, only Yolanda victims are expedited, and word on the street is that a.)they are having a hard time proving that they are actually victims due to records destruction and b.) there aren't that many applicants from that region anyway. In general, Manila apps are quite a bit slower than other VOs as I understand it.

I can confirm that Manila applications are not expedited. 9 months into process and still not word. CEM must have tightened up the requirements for proving effected by Typhoon.I know of a few applications that were expedited because they were from region affected but not directly affected themselves.

Hi Mike. Dot worry too much. Your application was received 6 days after mine and I got my AOR and SA 5 days ago. I think you will get AOR and SA this week.

Folks, I will be away for the next 4 weeks for work related reason. Therefore, I will not be able to update the spreadsheet. I know that agarand8 is active on this forum and she has edit rights. I'm not sure who else is active on this forum and also has edit rights. Anyway, if you need your dates to be updated on the spreadsheet, just mention that on this forum and hopefully someone will do that for you.

Thanks for the heads up o_guy. For those unaware,(mostly) agarand8, zarilenth and myself can keep the spreadsheet up to date for you all. I kinda have the overnight shift, if you will, for the next two months. 11 hour time difference here in Thailand. ;D

I could. When I was in Costa Rica for that 8 months I lost like 60lbs. When I'm here I work in an accounting office and for some reason our clients think they're being nice when they bring us boxes of donuts every couple of days. (we are accross the street from a Robins Donuts). Great. lol. I am pregnant, but that's not the only reason my pants are tight again. :p

There is certainly BIG difference between the faty and processed foods we eat in North America and what people eat in "third world" counties. Most of what they eat in the Philippines is white rice and sometimes they have it with dried fish or some type of beef or pork but the portions of the meat is always small. Through out all the time I was there, I don't remember seeing a "fat" person there. But in North America, it is all about making the food more delicious so that you can sell more of it, wether it is donaught or steak with great BBQ sauce. MOST of our food have ton of cholestrol and fat.

I don't know if the goal is to make it more delicious, but addictive and bigger so they can make more money from it all - definitely!
I say addictive because the food here isn't all that great usually, but there is a lot of it and I always want more. I can't understand why.

He he, and my not quite 5 foot Filipina wife has gained 24 kilos since we got married. She blames "white people food". Of course, no one in her family is over 5 foot 2 and I blame protein and vitamin deprivation and we agree to call it equal. :)

My wife and I discussed this. She is determined to change what I eat and incorporate more vegetables into my tied when we live together. So hopefully I will be the one changing eating habits, not her. I thought only western women are conscious about their bodies and weight but that is not true. My wife knows she is slim and she likes it.

Oh my husband is going to get so fat when he comes here, without a doubt. He loves chocolate, icecream and Coca Cola and those are all things that would be a 'treat' down there because we can't afford it on a daily basis, but here....lol He says he won't get fat....we'll see. lol

isn't getting fat part of the "honeymoon" phase? I mean us women get that nesting thing going on, and start cooking home made meals, and the men just gobble it up... resulting in weight gain for newlyweds. :)

Ah you and your timmies. I actually was becoming a little too dependant on my morning fix. There was a tim's inside my school, was up to 3 a day this winter. Became obsessed with rrolll up the rim, to the point I actually only bought tim's at this one location that still had the contest cups, weeks after most ran out. But here in thailand, for some reason I don't need coffee. Feel quite better tbh. Haha

Btw, my wife has gained 4-5 kg and she blames me of course. Only 155cm tall. We have a plan on how to eat healthy when we settle in Canada, but will we follow it? Hmmm
