Everyone should remember that it's Easter in Canada this weekend, particularly that Friday is a holiday and the offices PROBABLY aren't open.

and just to add to this... most likely they are closed Friday AND Monday. My husband works for a company owned by the city of Ottawa, and they get a 4 day weekend. (one day for holiday on Friday and one day for holiday on Sunday) Fingers crossed this means we all get positive notifications by end of day Thursday! :)

FYI,
I received an one of those auto generated email to submit my wife's PCC and a landing fees. But since I have already submitted upfornt, do I still need to notify them?
Please confirm.
Thanks
Robin

You submitted the receipt with the application?

yes I did.

I would re-submit the receipt as your proof of payment stating that you've already paid it. As for the PCC, has your wife already applied for it? Sometimes it takes a while to go through. What's the deadline for submitting what they requested? It's usually 30 or 60 days.

may i know what is a pcc?Thanks!

29/30 days now and still nothing for me. Not even an AOR.

Called the CIC call centre yesterday, they told me the online thing says they're still checking files they received on March 12th. I said "yeah, but that was updated last Wednesday,"
he said "no it doesn't work like that, wait till it goes past your date, then you can give us a call if you've not heard anything"

So I guess I'll wait till Thursday which is when they update the darn thing next. And of course if they update it after 4pm, and its gone past my date, I can't call them till Tuesday cause the place will be closed from Friday-Monday cause of Easter.
Hate this.

I'm really nervous cause I don't want to find out so late that the application is missing something and that they send the whole thing back. That sets us back a whole month again!

Don't sweat on that, they've been known to keep working on files while they wait for documents. I think the policy of returning you to the bottom of the pile has long-since been abandoned. Even if they need extra info, it won't set you back to the beginning.

Most likely scenario is the office has been hit with a spate of illness/spring closure issues and so things are going a little slower than they were. It'll pick up soon. I think the theory that there will be a flood of info on either Friday or Tuesday is a strong one.

MrJB is right - if they were going to send back your application they would have already. My application ended up taking longer for SA than it should have, and they requested me to send my additional required documents to my VO. So you should be fine :)

Thanks for the reassurances.
Honestly, you guys are really supportive and am glad I've joined this forum. Always helps to hear others reassure you or have someone to talk to who might know better than you or put things into perspective.
Appreciate it :)

I know right, I love this forum! They should consider adding some background music to it. Some Bob Marley would relax everyone I think. Haha!

You will get your SA soon. Hopefully this week, but if not for sure next week. Just try to enjoy your Easter Holidays if you can!

So just as an update, we're still waiting for our SA. It's now been 15 days since our AOR, 41 days since CIC really received it(as per tracking), and we still haven't heard back from CIC. We have called them, and they told us that it could take up to May/June to verify that I am not on welfare. If we don't get something back relatively soon here, we're going to be contacting our MP and MLA as this is pretty ridiculous at this point. We haven't received any requests for information, nothing from CIC. Even when we call, we get inconsistent answers. Some say "it should be there by Friday, if not call us" while others say "call back in May or June if you haven't heard anything." Overall, this is getting really frustrating.
