After you get an AOR, they will give you UCI number. You can use that number to go on ecas. But I read on these forums that ecas is not updated right away, you will wait for a few days.

is someone here know what is MP means? I read few post and it says they already call there MP.

Member of Parliament - your political representative in the lower house of the government. Similar to an American, India or Philippine congressperson.

Find out which constituency your are in and who your MP is by using this link:

do MP help to make faster the process of our application?

They have no authority to intervene in processing, but the can provide 'moral persuasion' when cases are going slow, if it seems that one of their constituents is being treated poorly, etc, etc. CIC and CBSA are required to answer queries from MPs, so it is a way to get information, and the added spotlight from an MP can sometimes cause the bureaucrats to review their work.

Is that the site updated every Tuesday?

No ECAS is not the website that is updated the middle of every week. I found that website a few weeks ago by jut googling ECAS.

Yes, actually, ECAS updates every Tuesday. Well, that's what it says on the site, but who knows when/how often it actually updates.

Hey there!

We mailed our application last Monday (the 24th) and it SHOULD arrive today or Monday. Unfortunately we're unable to track the package and see if it's been received :(

We are applying from the Middle East (Syria, to be exact) and hoping for a speedy process! Here's hoping we all get through this as quickly as possible :)

Quick question - when you update your profile info to say 'app filed' are you talking about when they receive the app, or when they start working on your papers?

App filed in the profile means when you sent in the application via mail.

My apologies. I thought he was refering to the CIC "timeline" webpage which updates the middle of everyweek and indicates how long it is taking CPC-M to process applications.

No worries! Maybe he was, lol. I don't understand how ecas can 'update' weekly.. I assumed it was the individual visa officers who updated the applications they were working on, but oh well.

No problem.
That was new information for me also.
I was trying to keep it all straight in my head.
I think I have it all understood now!
Knowing about both will help keep me productive instead of staring at the screens trying to use a jedi mind trick to make the information change.
(btw if I could do that, I would approve you all! Visas for everybody!)
