So just as an update, we're still waiting for our SA. It's now been 15 days since our AOR, 41 days since CIC really received it(as per tracking), and we still haven't heard back from CIC. We have called them, and they told us that it could take up to May/June to verify that I am not on welfare. If we don't get something back relatively soon here, we're going to be contacting our MP and MLA as this is pretty ridiculous at this point. We haven't received any requests for information, nothing from CIC. Even when we call, we get inconsistent answers. Some say "it should be there by Friday, if not call us" while others say "call back in May or June if you haven't heard anything." Overall, this is getting really frustrating.

Oh that is just frustrating. Why should it take an extended amount of time to verify that? I submitted a bunch of documents to show I am well off financially, from the sale of my previous house and a settlement offer, plus a year of banking statements and showed I had no debt. I did all this because I didn't submit an option C printout. I did include my tax return from 2012. It's just I have been a full time student these past four years, and thought the option C wouldn't be pf any use. Now I am worried that they will take months to just verify that I don't collect welfare!?? I mean isn't it possible in this day and age to spend 5 minutes to just check on the system (or a simple phone call?). I would be furious too, and might even be in the same situation.

Just wondering now if you submitted any documents regarding your financials? If you don't mind me asking of course.

Welcome to the March thread canadianoilers and wrxsti. May your process be speedy and successful!

I wrote here sometime early last week and mentioned it would be quiet until late this week... Meaning wed and thursday are going to bring many aor's and SA's. this is me being positive. ;D

Now, to be pessimistic, I noticed they haven't updated the processing times yet.. Still showing March 12. Now I am wondering if the lack of progress is due to that internet bug going around? I read in the Toronto newspaper that this bug is forcing Canadian gvt offices to shut down their computers. Did anyone else hear about this? I pray it's not affecting the CIC and their ability to continue to handle our applications on a timely basis.

YES! Let's fill the spreadsheet with colour this week!

The processing times are updated on Wednesdays (so.. Thursday afternoon?) but from what I have been seeing, it looks like there are a handful of March 17th going through now.

I wasn't worried about that bug, but I am now! I did see some SINs went missing. I really hope they have a bunch of fancy security things up like they do in the movies :'(

FYI,
Just got an AOR from New Delhi Visa Office. What does that mean?
They have also requested documents which I already have submitted upfront. My Lawyer told me that no action is necessary. Please confirm.
Thanks

I didn't include an Option C printout either, and I already got AOR and SA! I have been working outside the country for the last 3 years, so Included a letter from my employer, some t4s on my Canadian investments, and a letter from my father saying he's expecting us and will support us financially when we arrive. That's it! It sounds like you included more than enough proof that your finances are in order.

Someone else suggested that each person probably gets a stack to deal with, and I think that sounds likely! It might be that the agent is slow, not that you've got a problem with your paperwork :) I know how you feel though, I was so anxious to get SA just so I knew that all the documents were there and everything was as it should be.

It'll come soon! :)

I was wondering what time of day people have received their AOR and SA e-mails? Curious to see if CIC sends them out at a specific time of day or if it's just random to whenever they finish with the file. Between the two of us i'm sure we check our e-mails about 30 times a day lol. Friday will be 28 days for us! Praying for some good news soon

yep,
30th day today
Still no AOR, let alone SA...

I'm not even asking for an SA anymore, just an AOR now.
That's how much my expectations have been lowered. I don't even want to know if my sponsorship has been approved, just whether or not they've RECEIVED it. Is that really too much to ask after 30 days...

Wish I could do the same, except for me, Canada IS my home. I already am home.

We had submitted a copy of my 2012 option C printout, as my 2013 taxes hadn't been filed yet. It showed that I had pretty low income, as I'm a full-time student and only work full-time during the summer. I also included copies of my last few paystubs, showing I earn about $2200/month, after CPP and EI. I'd written a letter, explaining how we met and our story, and also talked about how I earn enough to support the both of us while he is staying here with me on a visitor visa and also have access to student loans while in school. We were able to get a hold of a helpful call centre agent yesterday who said that the option c printout they recieved was not valid, but they still just gave us AOR and contacted the province electronically to verify that I'm not receiving welfare. Apparently, once they send that request they just put our file away for exactly one month and check back to see the results a month later. Oddly enough, this is kind of a relief, knowing that the answer is "no, he has never collected welfare" and all they have to do is look at it.

It means that New Delhi is aknowledging that they received your application. Yay! Congrads!

Which documents did they request??

So this is a weird one..lol
Called CIC today at around noon, and the guy said "the date online for 28 days/30 days is the number of days they'll take to process the file AFTER opening it. Basically that the SA would come 30 days AFTER the AOR. I know for a fact that's not what time timeline is. The timeline we all know is an estimate as to how many days AFTER receiving the package do they process the files, hence the "processing applications received on xxxxx" line.
Either way, I said "thank you," and hung up.

Then I called them up again 10 minutes ago and told them it's been 30 days + and still no AOR.
I gave the dude my details and much to my delight he read back my address and telephone number and email. I.e. meant that he had my details.
He told me the e-mail for the AOR had been generated, but hasn't been sent yet, whatever that means..
So he said I should hopefully be receiving it, but didn't specify how long.
So I guess that's good! Finally someone who actually helped me out and gave me some assurance.

Now the client ID he provided me with over the phone, when I try to check the status using it online, gives me the "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. There could be three possible reasons:" message..
Maybe it's not been updated yet in the system..
Either way..
Hopefully receive that AOR email soon, and hopefully the SA soon after that.
