please note, certificate CGI is issuing is not a 'birth certificate'. It is clearly mentioned in their site: "This is not a Birth Certificate but a Certificate of the Date of Birth.". So you guys either need to get it from your home town/wherever your birth is registered or get an affidavit from a lawyer. If you search this forum you can get details about affidavit and probably the format as well. Also lawyers already know about the format so you need not worry.

Another option would be submitting your secondary school certificate if it has your parents' name and your detail matching with passport.

hmm..

I have submitted my marriage certificate, it shows mine and my wife's Date of Birth and names of the parents(mine and wife's). the Certificate is issued by "Gov of Kerala, Department of Panchayats".

in the Marriage certificate & in secondary school certificate its showing my father's name with initials but in the Passport its showing as complete name..

will that cause any problem, and I believe there is no point submitting the Birth Certificate document with out any update from the Immigration department isnt it??

Thanks

I think that should be OK..even I have some such small issues.

yes, wait for CIC to come back (or return application) if they need anymore detail. If not, you are good to go. No need to jump out of gun. If they are asking BC again, then affidavit would be next best option for you.

Have you submitted your SSLC? because, for my friend they returned the application and mentioned that either BC or secondary school certificates showing your parents' name and DOB are the only acceptable DOB proof!! He even had submitted his marriage certificate.

hmm.. no I didnt submit my SSLC certificate.. do you know how many days it taken to get-back the Application??..

is there any option I can send the SSLC certificate to the Immigration department before they do something, it reached on Sydney, Novascotia by last Tuesday..

Thanks
Jeeks

Note that CIC will not return application if you submitted Certificate of DOB issued by CGI or there is any error in the School record submitted.
You will get your AOR. Application will be forwarded to CPP Ottawa and at a later (processing) stage, CIC will seek evidence of DOB stating that CGI Certificate is not acceptable.

So wait for your AOR and proactively, submit School record / Affidavit asap before CIC asks for it.

As Andy said, wait for AOR. Once you have the AOR, you can send the SSLC by quoting AOR number. It would take approximately 30 to 40 days to get an AOR or return application.

Just wondering if this is the case only for missing documentation or even if there is confusion in the provided documentation.
e.g. I have not submitted my employer's reference letter initially, will they ask for the letter?
Or, say, I have submitted the letter but it does not fulfill all the requirements of CIC(it is not totally out of the league, but just missing some details).

You are at risk. CIC calls for info only in case of secondary requirements (like DOB, T4, NOA etc). Canadian work exp. is the primary requirement for CEC. CIC might not call for additional info in your case and reject your application straightaway. Beware!

@desi2012

not to scare you, but as Andy said you are at risk!! Even after giving reference letters, still many applications are refused. If you can get one and you have your AOR, I would suggest you to send one ASAP.

Guys before rushing out applications, be patient and verify everything, read CIC checklist, user guide multiple time, browse through forums, ask questions and send it. That will save a lot of future effort and disappointment.

All the best to all..

Hi guys!
