Answer: 108 days of waiting for approval.

If I go with what CIC is posting on their website that means I have to wait till I become 121 days before I call.. 14 days more from now....

I would like to share this:
I called Cic today and talked to a lady who told me exactly everything that i already know. I asked her how do i make a complaint about processing times as i am not happy and she said she can do that for me and someone will call me in next 48 hours.
And after an hour some officer from complaint department called me and tthealked to me. I explained him my frustration and he said its the volume and i added that atleast an AOR will help and he said its impossible to send an email without opening an application. I added by saying if they send my application back after opening it n saying oh u r missing a signature it will be hopless. he said we r trying to reduce the application processing times for PR as a whole which is increasing the time for step 1 but he said we r doing background chks before sending app to Vo so that step 2 will be shorter:(
So hes saying that they have altered their entire system to include more of Step 2 in Step 1. So why have some VO's actually increased their times recently? ???

Well i'm sure if you talked to a different person, they would give you a completely different answer! I think what no one is hearing is that there have been some substantial layoffs within CIC

and did you hear the National last night......federal employees take so much sick leave it costs the tax payers billions of dollars and they said it will probably increase because of the emotional and physical stress of the layoffs.....all I can say is wow.....(actually insert swear word) :P

That's a good news! Thought it takes allot of time in step one! but it will reduce that over all waiting time! that means that people that lived in two or three different country will have more processing in step 1 than those who lived in their home country for their entire life! That makes sense to me as they are waiting for the countries to send them feed back about the person as for criminal record or something and it also depends, on which countries you lived in, for example me I lived in two 3rd world countries Egypt and UAE !! And both of them they are V slow in their governmental stuff maybe that's why I didn't receive anything till now!! dunno I am just wondering!

This is interesting news about the background checks although it is hard to know if these people actually have a clue. I think he is just trying to pacify you to be honest. Background checks for who, the applicant? Well many places, like Mexico, cannot do the background check until the VO requests it. So that makes no sense.

I read that Ottawa processes it and then sends it to LA to issue the visa. I wouldn't worry.
