Make sure all the information are consistent and you are using the right information for example
UCI: is not file number
First, lastname, dob... are the corresponding of sponsor or applicant

Remember too, if you're logging in with your UCI #, it has to be 4 numbers, a dash, and 4 numbers...XXXX - XXXX (no spaces)
Logging in with the UCI number, you have to use the sponsor's information. If you log in using the file number, Fxxxxxxxxxx, use the applicant's information.

I don't need to add dashes, also you can just use the last name of the principal applicant. Look on your sponsorship approval letter how they wrote the name on my husbands they put a space after MC so that is how i have to log in...with a space after the first 2 letters.

Thanks allot guys for helping, I tried everything you guys wrote above but nothing works!! Dunno what to do!

Canada Wolf:

Well, why not contact CIC and ask them to enable the eCAS login for you ?
If file is at visa office, you can send the request to the visa office, or, contact CIC Call Centre about it.

Try that, it should work.

hey guys,

When is a good time to order GCMS notes to see if officer is satisfied and all, after the application goes into in process at the lvo?

Any guesses or experiences from the forum users?

That would be a good question. I think on other forums, they were like 6 months but it pretty much depends on your processing time I guess.

I think it is really depending upon your VO.....I have ordered mine....my husband got called for an interview and I ordered the notes two days later and hope to have them before the interview......but if you feel your file has been inordinately long then you can order them......but like the previous poster says.....they will be 30 days old when you get them.......so if something happens between the time you order them and the time you get them.....it is not probably on there...

That's right. Ours was printed 5 days after I ordered them. So they were 3 weeks old when I received them. I'm not sure what happens between the time they print and scan them and the time they email the pdf, but there will be at least a 3 weeks gap. I assume someone goes through them before sending them out and reviews the information before releasing them. It makes sense, but I wish it was a tad faster! :)

I have ordered mine. Just to make sure do you guys order on behalf of your spouse (immigration applicant)? Do you also scan documents and send an email or mail them?

I'm the applicant and I'm in Canada, so I order them for myself. That way they are free. Otherwise, you would order them for your spouse if he or she is outside Canada ($5 fee).

I've done both, but these days I scan and send the ATIP requests. They send back an automated response indicating that they received the e-mail, so it's pretty much automatic (and at this point I order a new set a few days after I received the old set.)

Smart, no wonder they take 30 days, so you are the one who created this backlog (just kiddin) :)

So who would order them if both people are living outside Canada?!?!?

Until this year, I'd never ordered CAIPS notes (now GCMS notes) but given the long strange trip its been (and the past week's been a crescendo of strangeness) I use them just to keep track of what's going on and trying to ensure that I don't go insane in the process. If it makes you feel better. with four different applications in various states of processing I only ask for notes from two of them. :D

If you have an attorney, she or he can do so. Otherwise, you can have family or friends do it for you. I have once used a commercial service to order them (http://www.caips.ca) and found they do a good job for a modest fee (I think it was $30).
