My wife is Japanese. There are Canadians married to Japanese on this forum who have the same timeline, or longer, as my wife and I.
I think CEM is a nut house, no way applications sent after yours should processes first.
What happened to the" we will process your application in order of receipt"?
Almost seems like CEM makes their own rules with impunity.
If I ever have to contact my MP, I will definitely want an answer to this question.

Is this 14 months that they have posted for their time to complete an artificially set time line? It still doesn't explain why some are getting theirs in 6 months and others over 14 months. And with all the recent closures to VO's in Japan and Korea, does anyone know if the CEM was allocated with more resources to help them with the burden of more applications to process?
Most that are receiving VISA's faster are not with CEM I've noticed. Other VO's don't have the volume.many April and May applicants still waiting, but starting to receive PPR.
Our turn will hopefully come in 2 or 3 months.

Same here, would much rather be done.so we can get on with our lives.
But the reality is,we are dealing with CEM. Many say CEM is one of the faster VO's to process. We will see if true.

Good Luck.

More or less yes..there was a second VO opened in Cebu city that deals with TRV and other types of visas maybe..

Time lines? Seemingly it's mostly hit and miss..if you can spare some time read through this entire thread and it'll give you some insight into the recent history of CEM..IT'S A LOT to wade through but probably helpful and lots of your questions and concerns are talked about already..

What I still don't understand is why are there so many people who are getting visas 6 - 10 months, but I see people here who have been waiting over a year?
There's been speculation here in this thread that CEM prioritizes apps belonging to Philipino couples and that mixed race relationships...marriages..have a lower priority and hence have longer processing times..
It is what it is....and from our perspectives is pretty much impossible to prove that..

Thanks, JGM613.
Never thought of that, will be watching the timelines to see if a pattern develops to back up that claim.
True, we are at their mercy during this process. Not a thing we can do if still within posted processing times.

Good Luck,

Thanks Step... it's totally a waiting game....nothing else but..try to get on with your life and try not to wallow in it or your going to be miserable until the very end...we order our case notes and received them just after the ppr...almost nothing had been done at that point..almost seven months into the process..just ordered another current set for what that's worth...I'm guessing from that the meds don't actually exlire at one year..or notes have a date included in the medical section that are two months beyond the anniversary date ..that's the datee that I'll expect things to be completed by..I hope!

By reading other threads, Meds can be extended at the discretion of VISA officer. Many have had extensions .
I too will order notes at a later date, no use now too early into process yet. Wait 2 or 3 months then order if nothing changes by then.

Well, after 16 months and 8 days my Ecas finally changed to DM last night! I made a joke in another thread that hopefully yesterday's maintenance included some DM's, ha ha.
This past 2 weeks I have ordered my case notes, complained to my MP twice, sent a case specific enquiry to Manila and wrote a scathing letter to Chris Alexander. Not sure if any of that helped and I guess I'll never know.
Now just have to wait for the decision letter and hopefully the COPR.

Scosan
Congrats Scosan!

Thanks Gooner. COPR arrived at our door in Calgary from Manila by DHL 2 days after decision made. That's the only time anything about this process has been speedy. Big, big stress reliever!
